The Denali Crew Cab would be my choice as well, and because it is a lot less money than some of the high performance options out there,
I would pack my safe (s) with items that I have long desired 😀
As above, Hellcat or a Mustang GT500, but since I like to travel(out of state gun shows and auto events) by driving, a regular Mustang GT would do.
That's for sure 😀
A classic air cooled 911 has long been a dream of mine.
But for the last decade or so....

I would not pass on a 79 if the right one appeared, but the 78 was classified as an HD vehicle and therefore were emissions exempt. In 79 the EPA changed the classifications bringing the Bronco into light duty emissions class and as a result there were a number of small differences:
No unleaded restrictor in the 78 fuel neck
Regular fuel gauge vs "unleaded only"
78 had no emissions hole/coffee can or evap line
78 had no cat
Also the 78's used a mechanical throttle linkage and used the old style power steering pump
While I would make every effort to keep the vehicle as emissions clean as possible I would rather have the vehicle that was exempt at manufacture and not because of age. It would make me feel better. Also the round headlights and split glass are correct for early 78's but not for 79's.
Goals would be a bulletproof daily driver that could safely tackle any trail I came across here in the mountain west.
