Title: Slide cuts in a hunting hand gun?
Post by: Jayjay1 on May 22 2021 06:50:53 AM MDT
Hey guys,
I could get a Glock 20 with a Wolf barrel which has slide cuts.

Would you say that slide cuts are a no-go for a hunting hand gun, or doesn´t it matter?

What you think is about right if its a hunting purpose pistol. Getting debris and such in the slide would be a problem with holes in the slide.

A gun smith probably make your slide a holy relic. Some guns come with cuts in the slide and there are a lot of after market selections for some guns. And if its a glock then there are lots of slides with cut outs.

I had them on the Super Jager and I didn't like them. All in all it was a fantastic gun....just not for me.

the slide cut outs were the main reason that I bought the 4.5 " bbl XDm and not the longer bbl. one that I really wanted! what is the purpose of those cut outs anyway? to make it easier for dirt to jam your gun?

Great point to consider

The reason for the cut-outs is mainly to loose weight at the slide.

Less recoil and "faster" cycling (whoever can make up to it).

That specific glock had other specialities I liked about it (KKM barrel, Truglo-sights, etc.), but I canceled buying it anyways.

Thanks and shout out to you guys.
:D

I don't know squat about Glocks, but the Wolf barrels I know of are fluted? If that's the case beside the lightened slide attracting dirt, I think all in all you'd be making the G20 a lot lighter. Maybe not good in an already light gun.
