Ordered several boxes of Underwood's 9mm +P 90gr. Xtreme Defender Solid Monolithic just for fun, as their only online availability was 10mm 200, and 220gr hard cast. (Ordered some of that too : ) I'm a bit leery of carrying the Monolithic ammo, as DA's tend to focus on oddball ammo sometime's. I am assuming that if it was a clean shoot (as it has to be) it wouldn't be an issue. Currently, I always, carry what my local sheriff does, either the HST 124gr +P, or the Speer Gold Dot 124gr +P... Thoughts?
I carry reloads. I very seldom ever buy ammo. i don't worry about the DA's, will cross that path if it comes up.
Good point DDRiller,
Thanks man!
I also carry my reloads. I have heard a lot of people voice their fears of a anti gun prosecutor going after a person because of the ammo they carry but have never heard of an actual case of that happening. anyway, I practice with what I carry so I can honestly say I had my target ammo in the gun if that mythical prosecutor appears.
I carry my reloads in some calibers, too. I've never heard of an actual example of that mythical DA. Although, in the Harold Fish case, 10mm was supposedly too powerful. That DA made a big deal out of that and Fish's attorney appeared to be sub par.
That's for sure, Thanks man!
Are you guys carrying reloads, or hand loads? I'm curious because I only use new brass for my carry ammo.
For me, I always carry factory ammo

Usually new Starline brass in 10mm. I do have some 9mm reloads as carry ammo. I have enough Gold Dots for short barrels in .45acp for awhile and Barnes Tac-xp in 357. I've never seen the gold dots for short barrels sold as a reloading component. The Tac-xp bullets are sold as components but I'm carrying factory ammo.
