Any of you use the Hornady 12" Gun Safe Dehumidifier Rod?, or something similar? It may just be me, but they seem to get awfully warm

Two reasons that I never tried any: all of my safes are so old that none of them have holes drilled, and I'm too lazy to do so. Two, I have heard stories of the air getting too dry and cracking stocks by using the heating rods.
My research has shown an ideal range of humidity from 40-60 % is preferred. Different sources seem to have their own preferences. So I just continue use my Eva-Dry system and dry them out every 2 weeks. I live in a humid climate and keep my humidity in the low 50's which works well for me.
The only downside to the Eva-Dry for me and my situation is that one or two units won't cut it. I have to use 4-6 units depending upon the size of safe.
Don't buy the one to plug into the wall to dry out, it takes overnight to dry and they don't work as good as the ones that use a blow dryer method, which only takes a 1-2 hours.
I am definitely open to other's experiences with heating rods.
Thanks Vice!
Think I'll just open the safe once a week and put the dehumidifier by it. I'm just not comfortable running the internal one
Evening Vice, so overall, do you recommend the Eva-Dry, and if so, which model do you like? Off to watch my recently acquired DVD box set of Mimi Vice 😀😀😀
Thanks Vice, will try the Eva-Dry system
