Anyone finding sp or lp primers online constantly from any one place? I?m set on lp, but am finding little to nothing in small, plus I refuse to pay 100 + for 1K
Thanks
Last I saw, was CCI SPP for about $90 plus all the haz mat charges that puts it way over the $100 mark.
I'm still waiting to jump. I just can't seem to make myself do it for that much at this time.
My thoughts as well
Hey Ken nothing under 100.00 except American has large quantities but are still around 100 per 1000. Still a lot available so I would think the prices will come down sooner or later. Craig
I was in my local Sportsmans's Warehouse about two weeks ago looking for propane tanks (nope) and swung by the primer aisle.
Not only no primers, but I couldn't even find the primer bay tags with the description/price. The only indication they ever carried primers was the sign at the head of the aisle below the aisle number.
I am sure they just got tired of having empty shelf space and put other product there. Still, disconcerting.
Yeah they have rearranged the whole store where I used to shop. It seems to me they just don't care as they feel the stuffs not available so use the space for something else. I have just about given up on local stories. Craig
sqlbullet, I certainly can understand that.
Back during the obama/sandy hook shortages, I had my FFL's and being a small company, most distributors were favoring larger businesses (like walmart and brownells and midway and other large stores), so when it came time to renew my FFL's for the fourth time, I chose to just let them go.
If you don't have product to sell, sure makes keeping the doors open and the lights on a lot more difficult to do.
Having empty shelf space is never a good sign for any company.
I know locally, there has been two small gunshops that have closed since all this stuff started up again last year.
Without getting up on my political soap box, it's a shame that the one right that says "shall not be infringed" is the most infringed upon right that we have.
Between all the political and geosocial turmoil around the world and threats of wars and famines and everything else we've been dealing with, the times of plenty are very likely already past. Now it's getting into the two classes that my Daddy always told me about. The have's and the have-nots.
I'm not a defeatist by any stretch of the imagination. But if anyone can't see the writing on the wall (pardon the pun), then you've not been looking very hard.
Absolutely, the writing is very clear, with bigger problems to come
During the shortages the Sportsman's Warehouse if they had primers were keep in the back of the store. You would have to inquire if they had primers in stock of the type you wanted.
The also limited the amount you could purchase. But lately they haven't even had any either...it is likely they might not sell them at the price point being what it is currently!
I have been seeing small pistol & rifle primers advertised for sale (not cheap but available) but no large sizes. of course, large pistol is what I need the most.
Back in February, I made a 3700 mile road trip from Washington to Arizona and back. I found primers in Twin Falls, ID and in Yuma, AZ. Both places were $100 per 1000 for CCI SPP. Then last week finally saw Federal SPP locally for $90 per 1000, but limited to 200 per day. Went back 2 days in a row to get my limit, then they were gone.
Tough times right now. Guess I?ll have to be happy loading 10?s and .45?s. The funny part was when small pistol were readable available, I didn?t care, just wanted to load 10?s, go figure
Hey Ken I just bought Winchester small pistol primers for 65.00 out the door at my local range where I am a member. They don't ship and are having problems keeping the stock level up so I have to buy 1000 a day as that is my limit. I probably stop at 30,000 or so. Craig
You?re thinken my Friend 😀
Well at the range this morning they are out of primers so I guess it's good I got some yesterday. I think I have like 5000 in my stock now and they swear they will get more in. Craig
I happened upon a fellow selling out his reloading equipment and am picking up 30k spp tomorrow for $50 per 1k. I am stoked.
As far as stores, I saw Federal GMM spp this weekend for $129 per 1k and CCI spp magnums for $169 per 1k.

Wow good score...the pricing has gotten way out of hand for primers.
