a good friend of mine highly recommended Lucas White Lithium Grease for my pistol rails. I?m currently using Mil-Comm TW25B Gun Grease, but due to its outrageous price, I?m looking at other options. Have any of you used the White Lithium?
I tend to use whatever I have on hand. Currently that is tube of white lithium that came in a box of gun stuff from an estate sale. No idea how old it is, but it is still slick.
If I don't want the white to show, I have some old lithium marine grease that gets used. Again, just what is on hand.
For oil I use ATF, except a year or two ago when I got in a group by of Styx to help out a friend. I have 2.5 bottles of that on hand still and will use it til it's gone, then back to ATF.
That?s what I thought, I kinda figured it would be fine, Thanks man!
I also use white lithium grease on my guns where they require grease.
I use White Lithium Grease as well. Especially here in Florida, no need to get anything more expensive.
And the best part, it?s totally inexpensive
Like OP, I'd use 'whatever's laying around'. One product that I tried, and will use from now on, is cam break in lube.
Solid roller cams and the high spring tensions will put more pressure/friction between metals than any gun slide ever will. It doesn't take much of this stuff to lube a typical handgun slide, and it won't show like white grease does.
CompCams Moly Lube is what came with the camshafts so that's what goes on the slides
Have used Lithium grease mainly in warm weather. To be honest we use whatever is laying around and whatever is handed out at SHOT as samples. When in doubt Mobile 1 is always on the benc.
