A friend of mine on line Long Windy Road (LWRoad is channel name) on uTube posted a video Sunday I think shooting some Buffalo Bore and Underwood Hard Cast 40 S&W 200g loads!!
He didnt quite get advertised ballistics. I dont shoot factory, but I have 200g Molds and cast some for a test! Using Power Pistol and starting just over a starting load and topping 1tenth over max, I bested 1000 fps a number of times. I saw ZERO pressure signs and will load more of these for accuracy testing later.

I know that the short and sweet has largely grown out of favor of many folks over the years, but I still enjoy shooting an old xd40 that I have occasionally.
I have some light loads that are smoking out of the 5" barrel. Way too hot for normal consumption for sure.
I had a second go at this and achieved a 1019 average.

Never got to do any Underwood or Buffalo Bore 40S&W pull down documentations :-[
My Alliant data from 2006 shows the 200 grain FMJ over 6.3 grains of Power Pistol, COL 1.1300" at 960 fps with a pressure value of 33,700 PSI
My Lyman data for the RCBS cast 200 grain SWC with 6.1 grains of Power Pistol at 989 fps, COL 1.1350" with a pressure value of 22,700 CUP
Good deal man!! Thank you very much!
I have used longshot in the past but it became hard to locate so I stopped using it saving mine for shotgun slugs. But mow its been popping up and I grabbed a couple pounds so 8 will try it again. But I am really really liking power pistol!! Im gonna try some @ 6.5 next.

Because I haven't been feeling well, I have been perusing the forum and resurrecting some older threads. Has anyone been firing these from their PCC? I have a Sub 2000 that eats everything I load in it with very good results. I always considered these 200 grain hard cast but the only other .40 I have is a G27. I don't want to shoot those through that.
