Title: Hogue slip on grip
Post by: gadabout on September 10 2022 09:07:45 AM MDT
I have bought these in the past so was looking for one for the Arex. It's too new for them to have that so I had to buy one for the M&P 9. Oh course it didn't fit so I put it on the M&P 9. Shot it this morning and what a nice surprise. The gun has always shot good but today it was so comfortable I could have shot it all day. It may be my new carry gun if not the Arex.  Aguy at the range said it would be Glock 17 like size. Craig

Hey Craig, Hogue didn?t make one for my Taurus GX4, but when talking with Hogue?s engineering department, they recommended what  the closest would be that would fit correctly. Once you get the darn HandAll on that is

Oh yeah. I will get the one for the Glock17. I can make it fit if it's close.  Craig

I found one that said it would fit on all Glocks and it fit the Arex very well. It is a little skimpy but fits my hand well so I will go with it and let you know tomorrow how it does!!  Craig

Nice, you should give Vedder a look too

OK got 3 kydex holsters made and I picked them up today. He also did two mag holders one to match the S&W CSX and one for the Arex. I also got a holster made for the Taurus  hammer fired 9mm but not sure I will ever carry that gun. Boy 300+ for the holsters and 200 or so for the mag holders and I had about 30.00 in the rounds I traded so we all are happy campers.  Craig

Hey Craig, can you post a picture of the holsters, or the holster maker?s website. I have purchased most of my stuff from GunFighterInc & Vedder, but am always open to new places

Hey Ken keep in mind that what makes this guy special to me is that he has the gun in hand before he makes a holster. It is perfect for that gun and if you have a special anything mounted he will take that into consideration. He can make holsters ahead of time for gun shows but must have the gun to finish the draw ect. I also buy my own kydex ahead of meeting with him so I get what I like. I guess you can order from him on the website but it will be a generic holster so you better have a stock gun!! I like the idea that not everyone can get what I have for holsters!!  Craig

So this is a local guy then?

He lives near Cincinnati but it's an 1.5 hr drive for me to his house so I have only been there twice. Remember he is doing out of state gun shows so it's hard to catch him other than weekdays as he is traveling to a show or back from a show mostly. It was nice in the beginning as I could drive across town to a show for his work. I do have a custom holster for all my handguns!!!! Craig

Those are nice too. I just got done adjusting a holster I had made for the m18 Sig Sour but didn't like the fit so I changed it for the new gun I bought today a Sig 2022 9mm. It came out OK but I may still adjust after cooling. Craig

Boy shot the new Sig and it is VERY nice. Nice trigger and shot all in the bullseye which is nice on a new to me gun.  Craig

I was looking at prices on the 2022, and seem pretty reasonable

I got it at the range where I shoot and somebody just traded it in with three other guns but the store knew he had just bought it from them a few months ago so I got the savings of a not new gun but not a scratch to be found on it. It's weird looking with a diamond plate look to the slide. I like it though. Shoots great and the trigger is so light it went off on the first round and startled me quite a bit. After the first shot it was very nice. Craig

Just got in some Hi shok 115g hp from American. I will load up some tomorrow. They are a real nice bullet and I would like a lighter shooting round for 9mm.  Craig

I have been shooting the Sig 2022 a lot lately as I really like it. It will be my carry gun from now on but gee  what to buy next?? Anyway I am really shooting the Sig very well which is what I was after all along.  Craig

Glad you like the 2022, I?ve been thinking about a few upcoming purchases myself, but will require another safe, my most recent, a (suppose to be 37 gun) safe is a bunch of hogwash as I knew it would be, and is more like 24 if your lucky, but that?s ok I guess, my wife is supportive when it comes to keeping things secure, so will just have to see.
