It's interesting how there's a fine line in what loads Bulge the brass beyond repair...and some not at all. Those who know, know that the maximum high performance powders loaded toward top end using Longshot, or Blue Dot are far too much. I have to assume the brass bulge is either directly proportional to the maximum pressure generated, or possibly how quickly the pressure builds. (Regardless of max psi)
Anyone found a powder that gives top end velocity while still preserving the brass? So far, AA#9 has done best for me, I've been able to consistently push a 180gr. HAP- HP over 1450fps without damaging the brass. This is making me wonder if 2400 will shine in 10mm for the Banshee. I even considered the one piece of data out there for WW-296 to see what happens, im assuming it will be too slow though.
I have used longshot, bluedot, #9, and a few other things I can't recall off the top of my head, and I've adopted #9 as my pet powder for warm stuff.
I do not have a banshee. It's a blowback AR carbine build.
