Title: CCI primers
Post by: gadabout on November 17 2022 01:39:19 PM MST
Some CCI small pistol at leased showed up on American reloading. Kind of pricey if you ask me but I paid about the same for off shore a few weeks ago. Anyway they are there.  Craig

I bought 7 Ctns of 1,000 each for $700 dollars.  They are Federal Large and small. I have a huge investments of reloading pressies  and firearms.  My Jeep under Joe "Hitler",  Biden has to burn $5.00 gasoline's .  Inflation today is terrible but these same primers today cost $125,000 dollars per thousand.
I don't expect the primers to ever return to $27 bucks per thousand?

I?m pretty sure you are correct, I?d even be ok with 70 or 80 I guess, but this 100 plus stuff is a tough one to swallow

sigh...I knew we would never see penny apiece primers again. but now it looks like we won't even see ten cent primers either. I think the ammo manufactures are trying to make it un economical to reload so they can sell more ammo. :'(

Yes, I agree.  The primer and powder shortages are now 2 or 3 years old?  It seems to me loaded ammo is controlled by
the government and is expensive.  The market is limited to .223 and 9MM for the most part. The limited ammo and high
prices will collapse the American gun markets.
The far left Democrats and Prez Joe "Hitler" Biden also are working with European Politicians to shut down gun companies.
Look at the gun laws in the state of Oregon.

Pulled a 1993 box of 1000 CCI 500s out of the stock pile a while back -$12.89.  Never see that price again.

(For some reason I can never post a picture on this site so you will have to take my word for it.)

Just mess around with it a bit / put ?Test? in the subject line or something. Once you?ve done it a few times it?s a piece of cake. I?m sure there are better / easier ways, but this seems to work pretty well.

On the one hand, Kenk suggestions seem complicated.

OTOH...

It's one process to figure out how to "host" an image, and then every forum you can just link to the image.  If you are participating at more than one forum, that simplifies things as every forum is a bit different in how the "upload" works, but the "link" to an image is usually the same button.

You also reduce the cost to our gracious host when the images are hosted elsewhere.

Back to primers.  I would pay $50-60/K and be A-OK with that right now.  Might even stock up a bit and/or pay a hazmat if they let me order 5-10K.  I would bite my tongue a bit, then grumble in the car at $80/k, but I wouldn't buy but a few thousand large pistol, and I am not paying a $30+ hazmat for 1-2k primers.

Keep hoping to find the right local swap.  I have enough large rifle and small rifle I would give up a couple thousand for large pistol.

People forget about the picture button above, by clicking that button it places the IMG link tag (direct link address) where you can paste the link inside the & in between the brackets

modified example:

the beginning and ending [brackets] removed so the link will show as applied

I?d be happy to pay 50-60 per 1K, which is twice my pre pandemic cost, it?s that $100.00 - $130.00 plus hazmat fees that I won?t do

Ken you have the URL linking contained inside the picture IMG linking.  but the picture works.
All that was needed is what is highlighted in blue
