Title: Vedder paddle holster; should have tried one sooner
Post by: Kenk on December 18 2022 04:55:36 PM MST
I?ve always shied away from paddle holsters thinking they were likely not very secure, but recently thought I?d try one of Vedder?s ProDraw OWB paddle jobs for my GX4. If I need to run for gas, some Chinese, or whatever after removing my belt threaded holster, it can be clipped on in seconds, I don?t know that I?d be comfortable open carrying with this type holster, but for its specific use, it?s perfect, and totally stayed in place running after the dog 😀

Love the easy on/off of a good paddle holster.  In general, the ones I have tried stand the gun very far off body resulting in poor concealment.

I will check out the Vedder version.  They tend to be very creative in their designs.  I love the light tuck for IWB.

I?m enjoying this one so much that I ordered two more, one for the XDm 3.8 - 9, and one for the G30S. My primary holsters are all belt threaded, and are far more secure, but still nothing like the level of retention that would be used by many in LE. These will be kept for use around the house, for yard work, and quick trips to the store. It?s amazing how much gets tied up in holsters alone, it quickly makes you realize you can?t ever part with the weapon, or you?ll have 4 or 5 lefty holsters sitting around that nobody will ever want.

Thanks Kenk. I have to go to Creighton University in Omaha for a class in March. So I am currently looking for a holster for one of two or maybe both guns. First is a SW Shield plus with optic and TLR6 light. The other is the XDM 3.8 10mm with optic. I am wondering if the 10 will fit the 45 holster. But I need something that is easy on and off since I am going to a college. Most of my holster are belt holsters.

For sure, between GunFighterInc and Vedder, they give me everything I require in a holster, both offering options for optics and lights. GunFighterInc has a 20% off sale going on right now, coupon code (lastchance20) for premade / in stock holsters, but their custom ones can take 4-6 weeks.
Have a Blessed Christmas

ProDraw is one of the newest holster designs out from Vedder. Features adjustable retention and also allows for mounting and removal without removing your gun belt.
