Title: Fitting flat bottom firing pin stop - 1911
Post by: 38_Super on December 30 2022 01:16:22 PM MST
When fitting a flat bottom firing pin stop to a 1911, do you chamfer the edge of the stop that contacts the hammer at all?

The EGW stop I just received has a sharp 90 degree edge.  I know not to angle the edge like a standard stop but should the sharp edge be rounded a bit?

Good timing! I just received mine today as well. I was wondering the same thing!

I give it no more than a 1/16" round over.  1-2 strokes of a fine file or some emery cloth.
