Title: Midway USA problems
Post by: gadabout on June 14 2023 10:18:46 AM MDT
I don't like to use Midway as I have had problems in the past but suddenly they have Alliant Power Pistol in stock but my password would not work so I tried to delete it and went through a bunch of steps to change the password but non worked!! Today I called them and placed an order for 5 pounds in 1 pound cans so I am a happy camper. BTW I now have a local shop that has primers but at  ripoff prices but they are available. My Bosnia primers are holding out so I don't need any right now. Have a good one!!  Craig

I've ordered a ton of stuff from Midway over the years. gear, optics, reloading supplies etc. I've not ever had a problem. So far. What kind of problems you had gadabout other than password Issue ?
I order from a number of places online depending on price, sales, free shipping or currently in stock. Only place ive not been happy with was Optics planet. I was doing a build for a relative and they ordered a barrel. box got delivered ( FEDEX) with a big taped up hole in the end and no barrel. He went through hell with Optics planet and fedex before it finally got replaced after over a month. I have had a few cases with them where stuff didn't ship for more than a week after ordered that was supposedly in stock. They also bombard me with email and such. So anyway i wont order from them any more. I probably tend to order from about 4-5 places but more from midway than anywhere. maybe im just been lucky.

You know I just don't really remember as it might have been in the old handloads.com site that I had some pricing issues but I just don't remember the details. I do most of my shopping at American reloading as they have pulldowns that I like to load and shoot. Powder Valley of course but with the two year plague problems I have been getting the stuff where I can.  Craig

I understand. I defiantly agree its been really rough getting things and having to find alternatives past few years. I dont think I've ever ordered anything from American Reloading.  Been awhile since i ordered anything from Powder valley too. Used to be Brownells, Herter's back in the day  and powder Valley were the ones but now days i don't order much from those places and think Herter's went out of business in the late 70's and bought by Cabela's or something.

the only problem I've had with Midway is their expensive shipping.

My order was over 250 and they added on shipping and hazmat at what I think are higher than some others. But when you need the stuff any price is worth it for reloading!!!!  Craig

LOL, These past few years with things being so hard to get  I had to pay whatever if ya find it. I thought i had a good stock of supplies on hand but never thought it would be 2 years of shortages and non availability.  Lesson learned for me. used to be i bought bulk to save money but learned buying bulk X2 just so i have a better stash is good practice. Least its finally getting better and prices bit better too.

Yeah I used to think 1 pound of powder was enough for a year or so now it's 5 lbs and don't get me started on primers. My last order was 5000.  Craig

Primers were the worst !! Still can be tough.  It has taught me one thing though, whatever i think is enough i double it and keep at least a year or two worth tucked back. Anyway ive had good luck with Midway but agree shipping can be bit high.
Natchez, Midsouth and Midway pretty much are my go to for supplies nowadays. seems like all the places in midwest and west take longer to get than the paces back east do.

The only problem I ever had with Midway was one time the package of parts I ordered was short and they replaced it no question.  I tend to wait until they have free shipping unless it is something I have to "have it now".

Well I got my order in and it was only two day overdue!! A UPS issue I feel. Anyway got 5 lbs Power Pistol and that is around 6500 rounds of 9mm, got bullets but might have to check primers. I got 6000 awhile back but I am down to 3000 I should think. Craig
