We need a button or something that will give us all new posts by date. I was reading a post
That was new, went to do something else. Now, I can't find where it was located. This could be used as a landing page.
I will look at it some over the next week or so. I found one add-in package that looks nice, but it may not work with all the available themes. I will deploy it to my test environment and see how well it works. If the package works well I will schedule a change to apply it here.
How about this:

Also now at the bottom of the forum main page.
Nice, Thx!
Yes, that works. You can leave the messages off and we can click on the headings that way, they'll stay lined up better.
There isn't a button in admin to remove the message, but I agree that would be cleaner. I will see if I can find a mod for it, or if I can find and update the code.

When I use the search engine, I just put in 2025 in the search engine, it gave me an option to choose the message or just the heading.
Sorry, am I being too fussy?
I don't know that you are being fussy. I agree that it would be more "readable" if the message body was not included.
But this isn't "search" driven. It is controlled by the board index settings. Here is a screenshot of the options from the admin a console:

I can't find any settings to control the "recent" posts page. But I will keep looking.
I saved this as a bookmark, seems to work fine. This way, it's a little difficult to reply. The only way to do it is to quote, but it works and I can find, the posts that. I couldn't find before.
