Title: Been wanting one of these...
Post by: The_Shadow on June 23 2013 08:16:38 PM MDT
I finally managed to find a Factory Remington 870 Wing-Master Police rifle sight 20" barrel via a local sale, bore was excellent shape and the bluing was also in great shape one small spot of surface rust at the muzzle and some of the bluing rubbed off where the sliding forearm rubbed.  This is going to be handy to test my BuckShot loads and slugs!  I didn't want to shoot the slugs thru my original 30" full choke barrel.  Considering the new barrels go for $180 give or take I got this one for $80.  ;D

I've got the same barrel and sights on my old 870 riot gun. I got it from my shooting buddy for 3 bills and its like new with the wood stocks and great bluing.
I think its about 30 years old and works perfect. Congrats you got a great deal on that barrel, I was wishing I had a longer barrel with the choke tubes.  :))

When I first bought my 870, I cleaned all of the oils off of the barrel and receiver masked it and painted it camo for use in the woods and Louisiana Marshes for duck, deer, hog, rabbit and squirrel hunting.  Under that paint job is brand new bluing from the factory.  It has held up quite well all these years.

I may strip the paint off and do a hydrographics dip finish to include the synthetic stock and fore grip I picked up on a close out sale.  The original set of wooden stock and fore grip I will leave the wood finish on it.  ;D
