Title: Double Tap 9mm +P 124gr
Post by: Intercooler on July 04 2013 05:04:47 PM MDT

This was rated on a 4" G19. New packaging says 4.5" barrel which would be a G17. Is their a longer version for the next box label when it doesn't make it?

Lol typical modern Doubletap.  1215 FPS isn't bad for a +P load, but why list as 1300 FPS?  Oh yeah... marketing to gun guys (bigger and faster is always better!)  :))

This is one reason I like doing pull-downs, to see why the claims are or are not being met...The type powder, how much or not enough for the performance claims.   8)

Didn't watch the video, was that 1215 fps from the G19? If so, that's pretty much on par with Underwood's 124 +P Gold Dot load; nothing wrong with that. That's probably about the perfect velocity for that bullet anyway for a good balance between expansion and penetration. I have the Underwood 124 +P+ (does 1300+ fps from my G19) but I'm starting to think that load gives too much expansion unless fired through heavy clothing or barriers. Just my opinion of course; I reserve the right to change my mind as always.  ;D
