Title: Will they ever make Dan Wesson Razorbacks again?
Post by: Buckeye 50 on September 11 2013 06:48:58 PM MDT
I would dearly love one but heard the company had a big fire or something?

I have seen plenty of them lately. Possibly they are making them again now?

Just curious what draws you to that model? I just sold mine about a week ago.

I am not in the immediate market (maybe a month or so) but have been looking for months.  If someone knows where you can buy a new in-box 10mm Razorback I would LOVE to know about it.

Thanks,

Pat

You can set up a saved search too which will post what is listed in an e-mail to you.

FWIW I about broke my wrist getting the plastic out over a year ago when I purchased mine at $1143.

Golly, think I paid $895 for my Razorback from Bud's Guns....but that was way back.

Do you just like the looks or some other feature?

Reason I ask is what I learned from mine and then sold it. The RIA may be the better buy all things considered. The 1911 is light on the front and has more rise than my other 10's. If I were to have kept it the best fix is a $200 Tungsten guide rod for weight. The RIA starts with a bull barrel which is more weight plus you can still add a Tungsten guide rod for a win/win on the front. My Razorback was a little sensitive to some ammo because the chamber dimension was tighter than my others. Kind of a +/- on that one! The others feed great even with the big 220's. I haven't seen expansion numbers for a RIA 1911 when you shoot a good round like Underwood 180's but bet it's looser than the DW. That's a plus in the feed area!

You will start with a cheaper out of the box firearm, full adjustable rear sight, fiber front, bull barrel and something maybe better suited to the 10mm in a 1911.

Here is where I bought mine. You may want to phone them up and see if they can order you one at a better price:

Did you end up having feeding problems with your RB?.  Was reliability a concern?

With your thoughts on the RB I wonder if you would have the same opinion of the fusion longslide?

Just interested as I would love to have a fusion 6" long slide.

I don't know much about the Fusion and how it runs. With the DW I noticed if you didn't run upper end 10mm it seemed to run better with feeding. It just didn't like the 220's and that may be more about something with the feed.

When the others would run all of that and have extra capacity plus handle them better I decided to part with it. The only lower capacity 10mm I own now is the 1006 which is a feeding machine!

I know we have seen that about 1 Zillion times  ;D You need an updated picture  :D

Extremely accurate! When it comes to what to have on-hand anymore I lean more to function. It has to shoot up and down without problems using all types.

Buy some Underwood 220's and do a video of it shooting them without issue and you will have something!

This.  Too many of us just stand up and shoot.  We don't get down, roll around, get behind targets, shoot on the move.  Like the old marine saying..."If you have a good shooting position, your cover is terrible"

Especially with our carry gun and ammo we need to be sure it is 100% reliable in any orientation.
