I am not a fan of polished chrome or stainless.  I bead blast my stainless guns when they start to look dog eared.

I've got a 1076 that I've had for years. The previous owner had polished the slide. Doesn't make me any difference either way cause it's a grand old shooter. I think marks from normal use might show up more on a polished gun, maybe not. The guy that polished the slide on mine used a dremel tool, so it has "waves" in it. Not a good job. My gunsmith polishes a lot of stainless guns for folks and I must say, they are Beutiful. Think nickel plated.

Pictures?

I have $100 in vouchers I won at a place that does polishing.

Many think that it devalues the gun!  Yes they can look nice polished, but they just reflect more light!
I am not a real fan of the S&W series being polished like mirrors. Sorry!  ???

The slide on my 1066 is polished and I REALLY like the look. This is with her still a little dirty after the sight install and trip to the range yesterday>

They just don't have much in the looks department.

Ascension's photo shows up pretty good, I'm sitting here trying to get a pic but you can't see the difference that good. I had planned to bead blast it back to its former glory but haven't gotten to it yet. Mine isn't as bright as Ascensions.

Hmmm. Not bad but something is missing.

This is about perfect! How I would want mine to look. I'm thinking about contacting him to see what process he used. This is me  8)

He responded to my questions. Old T-Shirt and Mothers is all he used plus lots of elbow grease.
