When I get moved this is another one for sure on my radar. I almost bought one last year but it was a little high. I LOVE LOVE this .22!

I've been looking at .22 pistols lately just b/c I don't have one. That one takes the cake & eats it too.
It's the Holy Grail of .22's and the cost shows it. They run $1000 on up :o
One of those is on my 'long list' as well. :D
And I want that exactly as pictured... Size, finish and grip but left handed.
I won't dump my M3 since it's set up perfect for me and has been outstanding!

I've owned two of them. Used them extensively at the USAMU. It is a sexy gun, but can be a finicky gun to make reliable.
I recently picked up a Nelson 22 upper for my 1911 and found it to be more accurate than any model 41 I've ever shot.

I had not heard of the Nelson Conversion so I looked it up and saw it was designed by Bob Marvel.
I have had a Marvel Conversion for about 5 years and the accuracy is unbelievable. The test target that came with the pistol was a 10 shot group fired at 50 yards under .875". Here is their website:

What they say is true. I did not believe it until they started showing up at my gun club.

Bob Marvel hasn't had anything to do with Marvel Precision for a very long time. From what I understand there were some improvements that Bob wanted to make when working for Marvel Precision but the controlling interest didn't see it Bobs way so Bob left.
Bob and Larry are good friends and have been for years. So they got together and made the improvements and changes they felt the design needed and started selling them. They don't do any advertising. It's pretty much word of mouth. I bought several of the uppers from Larry because I am in the process of starting a NRA Junior rifle and pistol team here. I wanted something that would give the kids the accuracy needed to compete.
I haven't been able to Ransom Rest them yet because I'm in the process of building the range right now. I can't wait to get them in a RR cause I've done some shooting from a crappy bench with a rolled up jacket and got some 5 shot groups just under 1/2" with good ammo. With winchester M22 I was getting 3/4" groups.
I promised Larry that as soon as I get the RR set up at my new range I will do a video and post to youtube.
That's interesting. I also think that Wilson Combat has a Marvel designed 22 conversion and I wondered what the deal was there.
All I know is that they are a wonderful addition to your favorite 1911. We have a Ransom Rest at our club and one of the Bullseye Shooters set his up to see how much effect the more expensive ammo had on group size. The worst he got was 1.5" at 50 yards. Blazer ammo shot under 1.25".
Basically any ammo shoots better than I can out of the Marvel. Thanks for the information.
Intercooler, they both look like tack drivers!
