Black Hills 10mm Ammo http://www.ammunitiontogo.com/product_info.php/products_id/8331 (http://www.ammunitiontogo.com/product_info.php/products_id/8331)
I have not tested the Black Hills 10mm but they are meticulous about their quality and performance. But the question remains is this 10mm ammo loaded to "FBI/LEO" specifications of 180 grain @ 980 fps or is it loaded hotter to a higher level I can't say and they don't show the velocity specs on their site.
Only testing will tell!
"New Seconds". Not sure what they mean by that, but Black Hills has always been good ammo. My dept. used them for all the target ammo for years. As far as the power "class" goes, only testing will tell. 20+ years ago, I used a lot of Black Hills bullets (HC's, coated and jacketed). Always first rate, and more consistent than any other commercial supplier. Not sure if it's still the same company, but I'd give it a try. Not "cheap", so it better be good.
I'm confused.
I don't think Black Hills makes 10mm. On their site they don't show it and that box says "seconds". Could this be a mistake?
Doing a little research it was discontinued a long time back. If they have some it is more than likely from back in that era.
I wonder what the specs on it are. At $520/1000 it isn't a terrible price. Beats the price I paid last night for 185 grain Gold Dot 45 ACP.
I called Black Hills. It is 1000 FPS and its over-run of Police ammo. They only have two 500 blocks left.
So about the same specs as Georgia Arms of BVAC. But more money and in theory a better brand.
Its sad so many places load to the very low end of 10mm. I have my second box of Armscor to test this weekend with many others. They may be the best bang for the Buck if they don't change.
If this was for LE, they were probably seeking to duplicate the FBI load.
I wish whatever department it was would just go to 40S&W and sell all those 10's to us.
