Prices went up looks to have happened today
Any idea how much? I have to go over and look! We are developing more options for people like me that don't reload YET. PBR might be in a position to scoop up some customers :-X
When I move, a reloading setup and learning curve might be in the plans :o
I can't recall all the prices, but TMJ's were $27 for any weight. Now they are $30 :o
I ordered 3 boxes of 200tmj last week for 30.60 per box and now they are 33.06 per box. 220 hard cast are now 39.95 per box. Still cheaper then some others but for how much longer.
Looks like a 10% price increase :o

Some predicted this would happen. :'(
Glad I ordered when I did
I'm looking at my old invoices and 9mm, .44 Mag and .357 Mag didn't take a huge hit. The big seller 10mm is where the increase is seen.
What I paid 2/2012:
357 Magnum 158 Grain Full Metal Jacket Box of 50
1 $20.90 $20.90
10mm Auto 180 Grain Total Metal Jacket Box of 50
1 $25.00 $25.00
44 Remington Magnum 240 Grain Full Metal Jacket Box of 50
2 $30.00 $60.00
Component cost. Not surprised. I read an intresting article last week how the ammo market will still be active into 2014. Market has still yet to catchup. My concern into the yr and beyond is inflation, metal prices. Currently copper inventories are at a lowest since 2012. China is also biggest user of it.
$40.60 for 200 grain XTP and JHP. :o
Well, Buffalo Bore is $31.55 for 20 rounds of 220 grain hardcast.
Underwood is $39.95 for 50 rounds of 220 grain hardcast.
So Underwood is still the better deal.
I am disappointed in the increase of the tmj rounds though. These are what we use for the most part for training at the range. This will make 10mm shooting more difficult for those of us who don't reload.
Someone pointed out it wasn't equal to all calibers. The 10mm had the biggest increase.
So the loyal 10mm customers are taking the biggest hit?
Well Armscor etc might be weak but it works for training. I think ill set me sights on accumulating the training stuff for now. This price increase might discourage 10mm users since Underwood was the go to provider of cost effective 10mm. Ill go to a diff caliber for summer carry and stick with the mighty 10 for cold season. Intresting on how the overall price market in ammo will do thru the year. Ill be a watchin and accumulating till then.
135 JHP
$36.20 in November, $37.60 now. $1.40 difference is 4% jump.
155g XTP
$36.83 in Novenber, $38.10 now. $1.27 difference is a 3.5% jump.
Those are my examples. Printing money so the government can spend more has its cost. It sounds like its not across the board, and I'm thinking its just passing component increases he's seeing.

Great point. Also taking into consideration the big boy manufactures dealing with the ACA. Those costs will be passed onto worker and to consumer.. Underwood is a small family operation but price increase comes with many variables.
There is 4 available of xtp 180 underwood now.
Every time I wanted to to order some they didn't have what I needed or wanted. Just gave up looking and moved on. Since I handload I get what I want, when I want it. My EDC is Atomic for the time being so all is good.
I just happened to cross a Underwood offer on gunbot.net There were 7 50 counts at time on the 180 XYP's. crazy.
Cmon do people actually buy buffalo bore? What a colossal rip. I wish undwrwood hadnt raised his price but he has a hard time keeping things in stock as it is. Buffalo bore wants $35 for 20 155gr barnes 10mm.
You couldn't plink or buy BB in quantity, but it's loaded up. It's way overpriced though.
Some kind of yearly increase. When I first started buying Underwood in 2012 it was 25 a box, last year was 27. I just ordered ammo I think it was Christmas for this price. Checked back for various grains I can never find on their website very early Jan and all TMJ excluding the always marked up 200 grain were 30 a box.
for a long time i wanted buffalo bore 180gr because it was the most powerful. have yet to buy any. once i discovered pbr and underwood i have never considered buffalo bore again. regardless as soon as i get my tax money i will be stocking back up. i blew through all my reserve this past fall. so if the zombies come tomorrow i wont be ready.
PBR's 165, 180 and 200's are between $26-$27/box. They have moved into the role as the best bang for the buck now. PPU is available right now for $19.99/box ;D
