For someone looking for concealable piece maybe a good option up close and personal...Just like 10mm when you get barrels that short you lose velocity and degrade performance to an extent. :o
I'll bet the muzzle flash will almost take the hairs of the trigger finger off too ;D

The Boberg feeds out the back of the magazine to make the pistol more compact. The XR45s uses a 3.75" barrel which is the same as the Glock 30.
I have a XR9s and a XR9L and they are well made and the easiest of all the small nines to shoot and shoot accurately. I got on the pre-order list a year ago and Arne Boberg expects to start taking orders by mid-February.
This pistol should be a hit at the SHOT Show.
When I get out of this State it might be on my list. Too bad no 10mm :(
I know there were issues with the 9mm Boberg pulling rounds apart because of stripping the round backwards from the mag, leaving the unburned powder inside the gun.

People are asking for 40 S&W and 357 Sig but no 10mm
He is planning on making it capable of handling 45 Super, but he needs to get it out in 45 ACP first.

This was almost exclusively with the very cheap FMJ stuff. I did not know this, but a lot of that stuff is not jacketed but soft, plated lead bullets. Even with a Lee factory crimp die it would not hold.
Stay with good approved ammo and you will have no trouble. I have had no separations.
I know from my little XR9S it's reliable with high quality ammo, I've had some success with reloads but not 100%. It's amazing how light the recoil is with +P in such a small gun,, a little on the expensive side. I'll be interested in the .45 version after the early adopters have time to give some feedback ;0

The Bobergs are very soft shooting. Arne has test fired the XR45 and with standard ball ammunition and it is about the same recoil as the XR9s with +P ammo which is very easy to shoot.
That was encouraging as I have never been a big fan of small 45's.
Here is an interview with Arne Boberg at the SHOT Show.

And can shoot 45 Super. And from my home state. I might have to look in on one of these.
Now all I need is $1200 bucks. :o
They just barely got the .45 out at the show.

They are interesting pistols, no doubt.
Here are the reasons Boberg says that his XR45 will have the approximate recoil of a full sized 1911 while weighing only 21 ounces.

XR45 Recoil-reducing features:
1. Rotating barrel puts some rearward recoil into torque
2. Rotating barrel acts as gyroscope as gun tilts (reduces muzzle flip)
3. Longer barrel yields longer forward impulse (less rearward)
4. 2" long slide stroke
5. Mid-buffer (split unlock block dissipates barrel stoppage energy sideways into frame and slows down slide)
6. Rear buffer (case rubbing against breech face)
7. Trampoline back strap with palm swell that flattens out during recoil
8. Gain-twist rifling (smooths out slide acceleration)
9. 3/8" long full locking delay (I keep forgetting this one) - compared to others at zero to 1/16" - slows down the slide
