long time reader first time posting, anybody used the 10 round 1911 magazines in 10mm by Tripp research?
I can't find any other 10 round mags for a 1911.
Other than using a Chip McCormick Base Extension.....NO
Wilson makes a 9rd for the 10mm and Metalform used to make a 10rd, I've seen them up for auction a few times.
The Tripp Research 'CobraMags' are in my opinion better than Wilson's offerings. Still, both companies offer a good product. I have used 'Checkmate' magazines with no significant issues to report.
I have to agree with Zephyr. I've got some Tripp Cobra mags in .40 S&W and they beat everything else I've found (Wilson included) but wouldn't walk away from a good deal on Check Mate.
Tripp is the best I have used in 10mm by a landside, I have used wilson combat and I have nearly thrown them away due to issues.
I use Tripp Cobra nine round magazines in my 10mm 1911. The best IMO. Certainly better than the Wilson 47NX magazines.
I've used both the 9 and 10rd 10mm magazines from Tripp. Normally just the 9mm as I shoot IDPA and such, but do have some 10rd ones I use at the range. No problems with them, solid. Tried some Wilson 9rd magazines but decided on the Tripps as I had some problems with the Wilsons.
I bought 3 wilson legendary mags and each one fails to feed critical duty, silver tip, armscor fmj, and hornady custom 180gr. So i got the cheap stock mag back out of storage and what do you know, everything was feeding flawlessly. Anyone else have any issues with these things?
I have used the Metalform, Tripp Cobra and the Wilson in my DE and have not had any serious problems with any of them. I had a few random FTFeed with the Tripp mags early on in their use but have not had any problems lately. I have shot Silvertips, PMC 200 gr MC and Remington 180gr MC.
