It looks promising, though is offered as a single stack:

Whoops!
Please move to 10mm handguns.
Thanks Shadow.
It looks very neat and the Bull barrel will help. I guess it's 9+1?
I would think so on the capacity. I like the bull barrel feature myself, and the support.
It might make a nice retirement present to myself when the day comes.
Those look very nice, thanks for posting! ;)
I still can't for the life of me figure out why STI billboards all their firearms. Not what I am willing to pay for in a $1500 pistol :o
I hear ya. I guess if you are not a well known company you feel the need to do such things.
Well at least it's only "Nitro 10" on the slide and not "STI Nitro 10"

Because its a 1911. If you are going to make a 1911 and there are 99 other manufacturers doing that too, how do you set yours apart???
Put lipstick on it!!!
Greg
Definitely a nice looking pistol! Those are some massive slide serrations, bet you know it when you grab a hold of that baby :o
Really nice. The billboard doesn't bother me as its nowhere near as bad as some of the others out there.

Website says 8+1.
I guess I don't get the clamor for STI to make a 5" 1911 10mm. The market is pretty well stocked with companies making 5" 1911's in 10mm. RIA, Kimber, Dan Wesson, Colt come immediately to mind.
That is lacking, the real void, is a high quality non-plastic hi-cap 10mm handgun. EAA Witness standard line is great when they run, but enough bad press to make you think twice. Plus, it is a big, heavy gun. The Elite series are great if you can find them.
But if you have a 2011 itch, nothing really out there to scratch it. I guess you could buy an STI Eagle in 40 and have it reamed. But seems to me like a no brainer for them to catalog it and make them on a special order basis.
Rant off.
It is a very nice looking gun, and I have no doubt it is well executed.
This baby is on my short list!!! :P
That's a sweet piece! I always thought the STI's were more expensive. You can't go wrong with that. I think the the capacity issue is overrated. You have very potent ammo in a very accurate platform. Unless you're holding the line in an invasion.
STI makes a great product and has excellent customer service, I have three now and had a 2011 VIP that I sold to help fund my Tavor.
Anybody have info on when they will ship to stores? Dawson Precision doesn't even have the Nitro listed yet. Not that they are the precursor for things to come....but, just curious.
I will stick to getting a fusion next year.
I already got mine about a week and a half ago from Shooters Connection. But I notice I cant find a single post anywhere of anyone else getting theirs so I suspect I got lucky? Fit and finish seem really very good. Not sure I like the slim grips though but we will see when I actually get to the range with it.

Sweet!! Any range report?
It looks really sharp. But at that MSRP, I can get a custom built Fusion Firearms for only about $200 more.
But who ever pays MSRP for a gun, anyways?
Shane45, Welcome to the forum! Great looking STI, Droolin'! 8)
Best regards! :D
Well... I do apparently :o . But hey, I couldn't find one anywhere while I had the cash to do something about it so when the opportunity presented its self... the couple bucks difference for me is not a big deal. Frankly handguns are cheap in comparison to the retarded money I spend on rifles :'( . As for Fusion, well the ones I have had hands on with left me a little underwhelmed and seemed to be lacking on the fit and finish side. But its been a while and that can certainly be dated info. The real wrestling match was actually buying a 1911 from someone else as I have been building my own for the past 12 years but...I have 2 builds on my bench and chose the shortcut :D
Thank you The Shadow!
Range report as soon as I get some brass and some dies for my Dillon 550!!
RIA makes a 2011 10mm model. I even handled one at local cabelas. They wanted 750. If your patient, you can get cheaper online.
Going back to it's debut, the CEO commented that it was their most requested caliber. And they followed up on. Now only if CZ can muster up the same.
