Title: Trying to choose which 10 will be next
Post by: No Rush on March 16 2014 06:56:11 PM MDT
I am trying to decide which 10mm I wanto buy next.
Either the Glock 20 ... OR keep saving up for the S&W 610
Sorry if this has been a delema that has been brought up before.

I have a Glock 29. I am buying a threaded barrel for it, which will be bring the barrel length close to the G20 anyway. I also already have several of the G20 mag with extended grips for them.

I not sure if would really be worth it to buy a G20 at this point.
I know the 610 is only six shots but I think it is an awesome revolver, but expensive.

Someone help push me in a direction here...

I also want a 610. Every time I start saving, something happens and I end up spending on car repairs, plane tickets to visit sick family etc.

The 610 is slick revolver.  If you like 10s and wheel guns, don't miss out on owning one.

The last three 610's that I have seen have been priced around 1400 to 1800.
I even ask one guy if he would do a layaway for me but he said no.
Damnit! Ha!

I love my glock 20, I would love a 610 too but I will never pay what they go for.

If you're going to spend that kind of money, I'd hold out for a 4" 610-2 model.

I have never understood S&W's marketing strategy.  But, if I were running the concern, the .45ACP, and 10mm revolvers would be a catalogue staple.  A limited-run of .38 Supers ever once-in-while would be nice additions too.

You can get the grip extension and use g20 mags in your 29.  You'll lose some velocity with the short barrel.  I have a 4" smith & Wesson 610. Way more accurate, than a stock g20.  So it depends on what you want.
Also if you have time, take a look at the eaa metal frame 10mm.  Hi capacity magazine, accurate tune, and I fine they have a natural point of aim.

The reason that I keep leans away from the g20 is because the barrel length is not that much longer and your right, I can use the g20 mag to get more capacity
I am definatly wanting to get my hands on a 610 model with a longer barrel but it will take some time to save up and then trying to find one at that time.

This is what I have so far...

I am getting very tempted to go pick up .357 magnum instead...
Thoughts?

Everyone should own a .357 and .44.
