   A few more 9mm's I tested today.

Springfield XD 4" 1228, 1246, 1244, 1251, 1214. Average = 1236.6 FPS/ 391 LBS
EAA Elite Limited 4.75" 1223, 1262, 1249, 1216, 1231. Average = 1236.2/ 390 LBS

This powder must not make much of a difference in the longer barrel. Strongest of all the steel cased 9mm's so far, almost a +P.

Springfield XD 4" 1207, 1206. Average = 1206.5 FPS/ 401 LBS
EAA Elite Limited 4.75" 1303, 1305. Average = 1304 FPS/ 468 LBS

Springfield XD 4" 1390, 1349. Average = 1369.5 FPS/ 479 LBS
EAA Elite Limited 4.75" 1451, 1454. Average = 1452.5 FPS/ 539 LBS

These are rated 1300 FPS and performed way better! It's right there with Buffalo Bore, Doubletap and Underwood.

Are you going to send some of them for pull downs?  It would be interesting t o be able to figure out the powder if those federal loadings!  I did a pull-down of 40S&W Federal HST 180gr and was surprised it was AutoComp.

I have seen other Chronograph videos of the blue and silver boxed BPLE where they fell in the 1200's for velocity. I'm trying to make a trade for some of those to compare.

Sending all of these plus a couple more tomorrow.

Yea that's cool!  I wonder what the BPLE stands for...Bonded Projectile Law Enforcement?  I know that there were some contracts for Federal that didn't meet certain specs and the were sold as is to the public even at WalMart.

I am interested to see what is in these as I snagged a few boxes a few months ago.  ;D  I would have thought bonded also, but they are the normal Federal Classic JHP based on the ATK LE info page and the velocity numbers are based on a 4" test barrel according to the info, so that is likely contributing to the better than stated number.

The BPLE results are getting some discussions going about the results. They are rated at 1300 FPS, yet my results eclipsed that with a good bit, even in the 4" XD. I know the recoil told me these felt like Underwood and some of the others were near box rating. I may have to do them one more time just to follow up the results and capture it on video. Back when I ran Kevin's +P+ which gave me 1450 FPS+ in the XD I had to run it a second time on video to prove it out to the skeptics.

The BPLE load has put down a lot of bad guys, historically.

The Brown Bear load is like a NATO round!

Shadow, BPLE stands for Border Patrol Law Enforcement. The load supposedly was designed for the US Border Patrol.

The Brown Bear was a shocker too. I didn't think with an 1180 FPS it would be lumped in the middle of the +P rounds. It always makes me second guess when I get results out of the norm, but I am also running a group at a time and many of the others fall about dead on or a little under ratings. I'm headed out now to do the Sig rounds and will fire a couple more of each of these.

To prove out the BPLE, I performed a retest today using some similar +P/+P+ rounds. This time I used the diffusers since I had no clouds unlike the last test. The temperature was 45 degrees with 18 MPH cross-winds. I'm going to need more BPLE  :(

The 9BPLE is the only round I carry in my 9mm's. I have carried it for years now. It has a proven track record and has great expansion given the size of the hollow point.
