Title: A Gift From A Friend
Post by: Bonehead on May 19 2014 01:38:55 PM MDT
Went to the range yesterday with a friend of mine for the first time since his stroke, been about 7yrs.
Any way since he can no longer shot his 10mm he brought about 300rds to give to me, needless to say I was surprised and not expecting that.

But I have to say the crown jewel was him handing me this box.....

Since all I have been carrying in it mostly is Winchester Silvertips, these will be a welcome replacement.  :D

Very nice gift. I really liked the Black Talon and wish they still made it (10mm) in the Ranger form.

Would the Federal Ny-Clad rounds be similar or the same as the Talons? Nice by the way.

Bonehead, while the Black talons are a nice gift they lack real 10mm power, 200SXT is only running 970 to 980 fps.
They are sell these on the web to the nostalgia collectors for about $50 to $60 per box...

Personally the Silvertips are a better defensive round!

Congratulations, you should do something nice for your friend!

A great fancy looking round there. As Shadow said they are undercharged. You could always do Underwood, PBR, DT, BB or Federals new load for some serious power. Silvertips are just fine as well. I had them in my G20 for years before moving to anything else.
