Title: Intercooler...About your Witness Match
Post by: sqlbullet on June 14 2012 08:22:40 AM MDT
You had the crack in the frame right behind the mag release right?

I checked mine out the other day, and same exact thing.  Doesn't cause me any issues so I am leaving it alone.  Did EAA do anything for you?

I contacted EAA and Henning for information. What the end result was is models like the Limited, Hunter, Gold Cup, etc.... got a factory relief cut at the Mag release. Supposedly the new Match pistols may or may not have it. That area is so thin it happens. No worries! EAA and Henning confirmed it won't hurt a thing. Just did what the factory should have done. My Hunter has a bigger relief cut from the factory.

Where the Mag release button is (black button) it will split to the backside where the magwell is.

Ok went over my new Match.I took of plastic grips  to see where your issue was.Went onto other thread to see pics of your Match and Hunter.Just to clarify, when you said the relief cut was in(Inverted) is that the line that extends from bottom of mag well to top of frame just above the rail?If so,nothing showing inward on my Match.Bear with me,some pics are indeed showing inward line cuts from what you posted.

having a match with the crack i would say it is far less of an issue than the plastic sights on my glock 22 were.

The Hunter has a factory cut relief cut in. I posted pictures of it and a Limited. The line is just cleaner.

Hope to get to range today.Ill start with light stuff, factory spring etc.Try some UnderWood 180's and 200s with 18lb spring,Henning Guide Rod.Just recieved E-Mail from Triple K that my shoulder rig is still being completed. They make em for the Witness 4.5 and 4.7.Another matter ill check on is my Compact Witness with the improved Mec Gar mags. The 15rnd mags fit into compact. Those red follower mags in compacts are not 100%.I e-mailed Mec Gar if they are going to make a mag for the Compacts,no response as of a week now.

My reds gave issues until I put +10% springs from Wolff in them.  Since then they have been fine.

Range was great. The Match performed 100%.Accurate and no hicups what so ever.Broke in with 30 rounds of BVAC factory set up.25 yards off hand, all made it.Had a guest,so i was occupied with assisting.Took out stock rod and spring, used Henning Rod and 18lb spring.180 UnderWood used.I was more comfortable and all 14 shots were on target from 20 yards. Will get pics next go around soon.In regards to Compact,i bumped spring up 5% with Wolff, much improvment but i feel it can do better.Your spot on,should of gone 10% from get go.12 rnds with compact, last one FTF.Big improvement from previous stock.Used factory STHP.All said and done,Match was a dream to shoot. Will go to fiberoptic front sight next.

I love mine and pulls on the trigger versus the Razorback the Match is winning right now (no pull scale).

Post a picture of the Henning rod too if you don't mind. If I ever wear mine out I would drop for another one ASAP.
