Title: P carry 10mm sights
Post by: sstewart on April 21 2015 06:38:24 AM MDT
Looking at getting p carry to replace or supplement my shield.
I know the p carry has a cast in place front sight. So milling is. needed. Is there enough metal to dovetail?

Is rear cut Novak or ??
Would CZ95 sights fit this gun?
These look good to me.

I hope your aware the p carry is much larger than the bodyguard. It is about the size of a 1911 commander.

I am using the stock sights and I do like the gun but holsters are hard to come by.

I thought Alienware did one. Not true?

I tried that but the 10mm slide is wider than the other calibers so it doesn't fit right.

You might want to look into sending your slide to Dawson for the machine work and fitting of their site.

I think the frame cracking is a few years back now. (The rounded top ones; the current ones are more square topped).
I was thinking, since I shoot my witness limited very accurately, this would be a good carry gun. I have a S&W Shield in .40 now.
1) I could just get an APEX kit to make my shield shoot more accurately (for me since I am used to a SA gun with a fairly light pull)
2) Get a Glock 29, but I am sure I would have to get sights & maybe a similar trigger job - $$
3) The P Carry would need sights to be my EDC and maybe a trigger job also

Or just practice more with the Shield. Small guns just are not as accurate as larger ones.

I do like the Shield 40!!

Carries and shoots well.

Yes, I like mine too. I have the pierce grip too. But not the Hogue wrap. Usually carry with extended stock grip.
When I practiced weekly My groups at 25 & 50 feet where like that. Now that I shoot my 10mm more, not as tight. Bad guys still would be dead but ergonomics just vary between my Tanfo's and the Shield.

Just keep up the training. The Shield is a great size that the pcarry and the Glock don't have. Get one of the 10's for jacket weather. A good upgrade in fire power. Different options for different days.
