Good luck and stay safe!

I don't envy you and what you may have coming.  I live in earthquake country, and have never had to reclaim my barn from my neighbors.

Best of luck, Shadow. Hopefully, it won't strengthen much before making land fall.

This one may be more of a rain event looking at the newer info this morning!  May see some winds between 70 & 90 MPH.
Glad this one doesn't look to be like other stronger Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, Gustav, Ivan, Lilly, Betsy and many others during my life time!

Too young for Camille, or was it farther east. My memory grows dim. ;D We're getting some rain here (middle GA) today and tomorrow, supposedly off the outer edges. It's big......

Hang in there. Looks like it won't be at Katrina levels.

The U.S. has a few special places, separate from the generic malls, bland cities and suburbs. New Orleans is one of them. Kinda worried about losing its culture forever. Another high category storm could put it over the edge.

EdMc, I remember Camille it hit east of New Orleans over in GulfPort / Biloxi area but she did damage stuff over in New Orleans as well.

So far things are doing well, the storm slowed dow forward motion still Cat 1 highest winds around 80 mph around the eye, rain  has been moving along so it hasn't been training for now.  However with the slow movement it will dump plenty more rains.  If it doesn't stall out  the rain may not be as bad as forcast, but will be a 2 to 3 day event in and around New Orleans.

Well I survived the storm, but still without power from the grid!  Thank God my Generator is working well...knock on wood!
Tons of limbs, leaves and debris to pick up around the property. One small tree uprooted and fell on my place but a huge pine fell by my moms,  both houses fine!  got to run!

Good to hear, Shadow. I was worried with you being in the part of the state with the most flooding.

Spent the day cleaning up storm debris between some rain early, cleaned the roof off, raked and burned off about 10 or 12 wagon loads and one tree. Still no power from the grid since Tuesday evening. Bless and fortunate to have no damage to the structures from wind or water! 11.25" total rain fall over the duration of the storm! More clean up tomorrow if it doesn't rain again! If CLECO doesn't get the power on I will need some more propane for the generator!
