Anybody here shooting these. I have shot the 30-30 and used to own a .243, both pistols. I am currently working on a deal to obtain an Encore with a 15" .270 Win barrel and I am also thinking about a nice Stainless scoped .223 Encore on gunbroker. My question to those that are shooting these fine pistols. Anybody have a 10mm barrel. I was looking around for other barrels and seen a couple of custon barrel makers are offering a 10mm/40S&W. How do you think a 10mm would perform in a 15" barrel? Other calibers I am looking for .243 Win, 35 Remington, 7.62x39, 357 Mag and possibly 5.7x28 all pistol barrels ofcourse.
The ballistics by the inch (http://www.ballisticsbytheinch.com/10mm.html) data seems to indicate that 14-16" barrels maximizes velocity from the 10mm. Beyond that and velocities start to fall back off as the cartridge volume just can produce enough gas to keep pressure up.
Based on that I bet such a barrel would be a real blast.
I have 30+/- Encore/Contender pistol barrels. They work great and barrels easily change out.I shoot mostly TC barrels made by Gary Reeder out of Flagstaff ,AZ. His custom barrels are very accurate and well made, he also has a full line of wildcat cartridges for hunting and jus having fun shooting.
I took this boar (237lb) using the 401 GNR (44 Mag necked down to 10MM ) shooting a 200gr XTP at 1900 fps.Shot was about 50 yards and the boar hit the ground at the shot.
I think the 10MM would burn ALL the powder in a 9" or 10" barrel and the handling characteristics would be a LOT better than a 15" barrel heavy tube.

I think it's only a matter of time before I have either a G2 Contender or Encore, or both. I really like the idea of swapping barrels in order to shoot practically whatever I want in the same overall platform. Kind of like my G20 (though much more limited); 357 SIG, 40 S&W, 9x25 Dillon, and 10mm Auto.
