I bought my first Glock Today . I thought I would never buy a Glock , but I was looking for a smaller 10mm for an EDC . I love my Witness 10mms , but they are a little large for an EDC gun for me . I was looking for a shoulder holster , but it is nearly impossible to find anything for a Witness let alone a 10mm Witness . So I bought a Glock 29 Gen. 4 . There are a ton of options for Glocks , and even Glocks with Laser sights . If I don't like it it shouldn't be hard to sell . It wasn't in the store but the LGS guy said it would be in in 2 to 3 days , and it could be in as early as Tomorrow . I can hardly wait to punch some paper .
I really like my Glock 29. It ends up in my holster quite often.
Thanks for the reply . How is the recoil with the small grip , and the lighter weight gun ?
I love my Glock 29 Gen4, it was also the first Glock I bought! The recoil is not too bad, it is a little bigger than the 26/27 so the grip is a little bit bigger (I believe the barrel is a touch longer also). Actually for my big hands it is easier to shot than the 27 as I can get a better grip on it. I also do not get any slide bite on it like I do on the inside of my thumb from the Glock 20 while shooting (I have heard it called fat finger syndrome). It fits fine in behind the hip conceal or appendix. Only change I made to it was a 21 lbs RSA from the Glockstore (recommended by Underwood). It shot all of them fine, but threw the cases on the Underwood into orbit!
Thank you for your input . My Witness 10mms put my Brass in Orbit as well . I have a Viridian X5L Laser/Tac light set up , I want to mount on it , so now I'm looking into Holsters for that set up .
I find the G29 to shoot very much like my Witness full size and P-16/10mm. Perceived recoil for me is pretty similar, despite the smaller grip and lighter gun. I attribute this to the frame flex.

Thank you . What are you using for a carry holster ?
I carry my 29 or 30 in this JS IWB Holster, doesn't add bulk but holds securely...

I have a crossbreed supertuck for my G29.
Is there any OWB holsters that will accommodate the G 29 with the Viridian X5L .
Tomcat;
I did the same thing - swore I would NEVER buy one. I now have two (G20 Gen 4 and G29 Gen 4 both 10mm). My G29 is my carry gun. NEVER feel under-gunned. I changed my mind when I started Tactical Training.
Pat
I like my 29 way better than my 30S.

Check the Viridian site. They even have them in stock for immediate shipment in some cases.
Looks like other Glock models however.

Wright Leather Works (http://www.wrightleatherworks.com) for me. They have a long turn around time, but their holsters are very nice. I do not know if they have a mold for it with an attachment, but never hurts to ask. And believe it or not the $30 Glockstore holster works for me as a fast appendix carry option (used it today for a 4 hour drive in Texas)!
I carry my 29 frequently as well, I have a desantis IWB leather holster with adj cant. Carries well for me, I can rotate my 30s with it as well

Thanks for your input Pat , I can hardly wait to see how well the G 29 works for me . I will give an up date when I have a chance to spend some time at the range with it .

I was bouncing back and forth between the 30s and the 29 , and I ended up going with the 29 .

I ordered a KKM Barrel Yesterday , I hope it will help me save my brass .
Tomcat. www.cowboyneeds.com for your Witness. They make em just for. Nice shoulder rigs.
Nice looking rigs , thank you very much .
I swore off Glocks 20 years ago after I bought a 23 that was a dog. I bought a 19 last year as a carry gun and fell in love with it. I also just bought a 20 for deer hunting. Good luck with your new purchase.
Pumpkinheaver , Thank you very much for your input , and help .
The 30S pinches my pinky and is light. The 29 feels just right. Both as noted use the same holster. Plus the 29 I can shoot 40 and 357's out of.
Its a superior weapon.

ease of Caliber change is a big plus .
Well the KKM Barrel came in the mail Today , but still no Glock 29 . The guy at the store said it will be in Monday , according to the Tracking . At first glance the KKM barrel looks really nice. I checked the chamber with a new commercially loaded round ( Hornady 180 Gr. XTP ) and it seems quite lose . I don't have the 29 yet so I can't compare the two .
