What do the rest of you favor in a knife, or knife collection for various purposes? Pics?
I've got the few represented in the pic below. In order from top to bottom, they include: Buck 2-blade folding knife (2.25" blades), Johnson Adventure Piggyback by KABAR (2.5" blade, and is normally housed in the same sheath as the Potbelly), SOG Field Pup I (4" blade), SOG Aura Camp (6" blade), Glock model 81 (6.5" blade), Johnson Adventure Potbelly by KABAR (6.5" blade), Condor Thai Enep (11.5" blade), Condor Golok Machete (14" blade), and a common butter knife (4.25" blade) for comparison.
The SOG Aura Camp knife is my regular do-it-all kitchen knife, and holds its edge much longer than I ever expected of it. The SOG Field Pup I is okay, but the tip comes to a very fine point and is easy to bend over, otherwise works well as a basic all-around utility knife. The Buck folding 2-blade folding knife is pretty much with me all the time for just whatever. The Glock knife I use as an all-around utility knife, including for what would normally be abusive tasks for most knives, including but not limited to digging in soil. The Potbelly I haven't used much yet except for general light tasks, but consider it to be my favorite knife. The Thai Enep knife and Golok machete I haven't used at all yet, but plan to put both to some good use in the great outdoors once I get a chance to get out and rough it in the wilderness.

Looking forward to seeing what some of the rest of you like and prefer.
Very nice collection of knives. 8)
I have only a few. Mainly for camping/hiking in evergreen forests. Rather than wait till I'm back home for photos, I'll list my few knives.
A Benchmade CQC-7, a U.S. made Schrade+ LB7 I've had forever. Has the serial number on the brass and no "Uncle Henry" signature that confirms it's an older one.
Bought a Leatherman Juice XE6 for camping, but it's been in my pocket nearly all the time. It's small, but it has these tools:
Needlenose Pliers, Regular Pliers, Wire Cutters, Hard-wire Cutters, 420HC Knife, 420HC Serrated Knife, Scissors, Saw, Extra-small Screwdriver, Small Screwdriver, Medium/Large Screwdriver, Phillips Screwdriver, Diamond-coated File, Wood/Metal File, Bottle Opener, Can Opener, Corkscrew with Assist, Awl
My Cold Steel SRK (with the Carbon-V blade) is in my larger backpack. A decent lighter weight hiking/camping knife. I go on lone, multi-day camping trips in National Forests. If necessary, the SRK will work as a survival knife.
Funny, I bought the SRK from Lynn Thompson himself. I was at a gunshow in the town where his company is and saw a rather stoic, forbidding character hunched in a corner with knives in front of him. I approached anyway :) and bought the SRK.
And had a nice Puma folder I gave to one of my daughters and bought a similar one for my other daughter.
This is what I usually have on me/in my bag.

Lately the middle knife has been replaced by a Kershaw 1980 assisted opener. The two big ones are bag knives. The Tanto rides on the shoulder strap, and the other inside the bag. I also always have my Schrade SCPENG tactical pen with me, even out of the country. It is about the only weapon you can get on a plane. The powers that be don't even question it.
Most used...

I clip my knives in my waist band. Spyderco Police model for right hand draw, Appelgate/Fairborn for left hand. You never know which hand might be busy.
I don't understand why guys clip them in their pockets and advertise that they are carrying a tactical knife. When in the waist band , the belt does a great job of concealing the clip.
Besides, pockets are for backup pistols. ;D

Good Stuff! 8)
I have an Applegate Fairbairn floating around my house somewhere. It was an EDC back when I wore a uniform. I need to sharpen it up and get it back in the rotation.
I have not heard of an Applegate Fairbairn, not that that would be surprising. If you come across it and post a pic, that would be great.

Go back up to my picture. The knife on the left is a mini Applegate. The full size folder looks identical but is about the size or a little larger than the Spyderco next to the mini.
A scattered piece of the story:
The design of the knife came from ideas of Col. Rex Applegate, making improvements on the Fairbairn -Sykes fighting knife. The original was a dagger style non folder. Applegate believed strongly that a point was necessary for the kill. Both Boker and Gerber make the knives.
