Title: My new Glock 29SF!
Post by: Blades on October 18 2015 07:50:17 PM MDT
Did I need a Glock 29sf? Naaaa. Did I want one? Yep. Do I get to join the 10mm club now?
;D

Just picked it up today. Stopped at Gander Mountain to grab some ammo on the way home. I don't like having a gun and no ammo for it(will get some hollow points ordered, was saving up to purchase this gun). Haven't fired it yet, that will be in the future-- hopefully soon.

Two of the three magazines had Pearce extensions and I added one of my +2's to the third magazine. Since I own a G30sf I have a few holsters just laying around. The Remora will do a good job for now.

I have 33 Sig Sauer 10mm 180 grain rounds loaded, and am ready for some targets.  :P

First time shooting a 10mm tonight and I LIKE IT! I haven't been shooting in awhile and all the dry fire practice is good, but you can not mimic recoil with dry fire.

Recoil with the Sig Sauer FMJ was stout, more potent than the Prvi Partizan JHP(found them at Jim's Pawn Shop here in Fayetteville).

In this video(1:03) my buddy Brent(owner of http://www.advancedholster.com/) has a mix of both rounds. I think the muzzle flash is the Partizan:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OSK9_I0Qs1A&feature=em-upload_owner#action=share

Here is my target from 10 rounds of Sig FMJ as fast as I could reacquire the target, distance of 10 feet. I was surprised I kept them all in the circle.

With the right holster and clothes it is concealable, in my humble opinion.

I like the weight of the Glock.  Doesn't drag my pants down like my double stack 1911 does.

But, the slide is fatter in the IWB holster.  And that makes it slightly less comfortable for a long day of wear.

Totally almost bought this one. Didn't have enough confidence in how it would handle so small while firing. Great to hear about your experience. Thanks for sharing. And congrats/enjoy.

That is why I like my Mini Concealment (http://www.advancedholster.com/Mini.html ). Does a great job, and doesn't add much to the width.

I believe like any gun, depends on the ammunition you choose.

Yes, I like it. For $30.00 you get a holster that works with any 3rd or 4th generation Glock, expect the 42 and 43. I can use it with my G29, and if I happen to acquire a G23, or G36 it will work.

Question for ya... Mt slide dosen't seem to be completely forward... I have looked at about four 29's and 30's and they also exhibit same "look".

You can see it in the pic of the FP cover on mine.... How does yours look?

I'll take a few pictures tonight after I finish hanging my Christmas tree lights, but I think it looks the same. I'll check my 29 and 30.

My Glock 20 slide (which was handy) measures 0.036" off the back of the trigger mechanism housing.  The housing is flush with the frame.

My Glock 29, as I recall when I inspected them side by side, is the same.

My 20 was as you would think it should be, nothing ot of the ordinary... but the 29 just "looks:" like its not in battery 100%...

Checked the G29.  Both measure 0.036" off the frame.  The trigger mechanism housing on the G29 sits deeper though, at 0.055".

My G29 has only 117 rounds through it(it is on the right, or bottom, depending on the picture). My G30 has around 500 rounds through it.

I drop the depth gauge on my calipers in the little square under the "L" in Labe" and run it down til the base of the caliper sits on the slide.  .036" deep.
