Title: Resize New Brass?
Post by: kramer on May 06 2016 03:44:27 PM MDT
Stupid question but I have only reloaded brass that has been fired. I bought a bunch of new 10mm Starline and was wondering if it needed to be sized. I ran a few through my gauge and chamber and they fit fine.

Thoughts?

Not needed.

If I am loading progressive, they get sized anyway.  If not, skip straight to prime and flare.

I use New Starline and resize them and every other piece of brass I shoot.

You will want to measure the length to be sure it is not too long!  If you see that they fit the gauge they should be OK.

Usually New STARLINE brass will measure 0.4215" - 0.4220" from the factory.

I load 10mm progressively, so they get resized. I resized them when single stage Loading too to keep things round abd consistent. It is a step that could be skipped IMO.

Just opened a new case of brass 1000/case, used to be 3.03, is now 2.94, when asking company, thats what it is now, the screw you didn't have to be said to me, a big name.
What is the big deal on resizing new brass, if thats too much trouble I can imagine your reloading skills, judging also after reading SMILY CASES,
trying to use them again.
