Yes, very interesting, I was looking at some of them the other day on Underwood's site.

Well, if we need a screwdriver in the field and don't have one, just pop a bullet or two out of the mag!

I have Seecamp 32's so I ordered some of the Lehigh loaded Cavitators and also the new Underwood loading with the same bullet.  I have not been to the range yet.

Here is an email blurb I received from Lehigh.  Their test gun is a Keltec P32 with a 2.7" barrel.

Announcing our new 32 ACP in the Xtreme Cavitator (XC) Product Line!  Not only did we give the "little" 32 ACP life, we gave it attitude!

The Xtreme Cavitator uses a unique geometry to form a vapor pressure spike at the nose eliminating side drag and allowing deep penetration. How does 13.5" of penetration from a 32 ACP in 10% gel sound?

Let's face it; handguns chambered in 32 ACP have always been loved for their compact and lightweight design, but people have challenged the caliber for not being a viable option for personal defense. Well, never again.

Shop Lehigh Defense Xtreme Cavitator
We were not satisfied with a deep penetrating solid, so we applied the science of our Xtreme Penetrator and Xtreme Defense technologies to use the nose to redirect the hydraulic energy radially, creating a larger permanent wound cavity than any expanding solid.
The end result is a conservation of energy from a square nose to breech entry barriers, to a concave surface directing hydraulic energy outward creating an enormous wound cavity, to a cavitation point that blankets the bullet with a boundary of air reducing flank drag and allowing deep penetration.

This Round Achieves an Ideal Penetration of 13.5"
Our 32 ACP round  achieves an ideal nominal penetration depth of 13.5 inches, consistently. It is near barrier blind; ignoring wallboard, sheet metal, and automotive glass.

This Round Creates a Wound Cavity of 1.5"
There is no 32 ACP hollow point product on the market that comes close to creating a wound cavity with the diameter and volume as our Xtreme Cavitator products.

In the picture below, you can see how our 32 ACP round creates a massive 1.5" Wound Cavity in 10% FBI Ballistic gel.

We create this beautifully-crafted bullet from 100% copper, each one individually machined to the ideal weight and geometry on our in-house CNC equipment.

You can purchase this ammo and bullets directly from Lehigh Defense Website, and ammo from our Partner Underwood Ammunition.

WE WILL NEVER STOP INNOVATING.

I own steel autos in .32 ACP. I prefer penetration, but tissue disruption is good. What concerns me is accuracy. When I "pack" a .32 it's generally a "short term" affair.  What matters is if I'm able to breach either the sternum or cranium. This is what will make the difference between a "stop" and a "stun" with the cartridge.

I can place the .312" bullets rather well. Whether or not they will penetrate adequately is what "does the job".

"Street performance" is what makes the difference. As the 1962 Firestone advertisement campaign echoed, it's really "Where the rubber meets the road".

I was at the range yesterday and chronographed the loads out of a 2" Seecamp 32.  I think this is the first load out of a 32 that makes much sense.

Lehigh loaded 32 Extreme Cavitator  -  943 fps

Underwood loaded 32 Extreme Cavitator Std Pressure  -  998 fps

Underwood loaded 32 Erxteme Cavatator +P  -  1062 fps

I would like to see some gel tests by an independent tester and see how this design of bullet works.

Believe me, this is not something I would trust my life with but it makes the Seecamp a much better backup/bug.
