Stopped by the LGS and spied a Glock 20 gen 4 onthe shelf. Decided to pick it up. I already had a new KKM 6 inch 10mm barrel and extra mags in my gun stash. My Midway ammo order showed up today. I am going to take it out in the morning and break it in.
Sounds like someone is going on a fun adventure, congrats! Have a great time!
Sounds great. Remember the range report!
It is a good day! Enjoy your purchase.

Congratulations and enjoy.
I made mention in another post that I had been contemplating picking up either a Glock 20 or 29.
Do those that own Glock 10mm's feel comfortable shooting really hot ammo through the stock Glock barrel? Or is an aftermarket barrel necessary for really hot stuff?
It seems from what I can glean hear, that stock barrels do not have enough support for underwood like loads. I don't want to ruin my brass. And I certainly don't want it to blow up. My reloads clock through my. 5" 1911 barrel around 1250 - 1320 with a 180 gr bullet. I'm trying to decide if these would run in a stock Glock safely.
I have shot several Underwood loadings from my G-20SF and G-29 without issue, I do have an aftermarket Wolff non captive recoil rods and springs in them 22 lbs in the 20 and 21 lbs in the 29. The factor barrel will allow the brass to expand to 0.4340" any more and you will start to SMILE the brass, only test will tell if you will see over expansion.
In my testing with loads equalling UW and DT I have seen full expansion but no SMILES...YMMV
Congratulations on the new purchase! You'll be very pleased with it I'm sure. I sold mine to help fund my glock 40 but I often contemplate picking up a new 20 and having all three.
Dieselman- the stock barrel in both 20 and 29 is fine. I have shot thousands of Underwood through both of mine back when they were affordable. In fact I could never get Underwood to feed in my stormlake barrel. It's like the cases were too fat or something. It did feed all your more generic crap (time before Sig ammo) but that's not why we shoot 10mm.
I had the same problem with Underwood ammo I bought 3.5 years ago. The new Sig ammo is great, so I will be sticking with it for my factory ammo needs.

Excellent! Have fun with it. I'll be looking forward to a range report :)
Kihnspiracy, congrats on the new G20! 8)
Diesel, I have fired thousands of rounds of Underwood through both my stock Glock barrels (Gen 3 and Gen 4).
Just load up and enjoy!
IMHO, The G20 Gen3 is where it shines. Full size.
Waiting for the range report.
Just got back from shooting my new pistol. I am impressed. Shot 2 boxes of the new Sig 10mm 180gr ammo. Definitely has a kick to it. This is full power ammo 1250fps. Very accurate ammo. I shot with both the stock barrel and the KKM 6 inch barrel. I had no problem hitting plastic Perrier bottles at 25 yards. I filled them with water. They blew completely apart when hit. ;D. This pistol is a keeper. Time to order some more ammo.
Great range report. Wish I had a place where I could shoot actual objects like that. Oh well. I'm sure they were screaming outof that six inch barrel. Probably 1310+ out of it.
It's one of the few advantages to living in the southwest. Lots of places to shoot for free.

It is indeed. I drive 15 minutes to one of my shooting spots. Down side.... its going to be 115 degrees when I get there ::) Keep enjoying that new Glock.

In the summertime, we usually go out to shoot around 6 or 7am. We usually stop by 9 or 10am.

I was mostly joking but yes, I go out early in the summer also. Still feels dang hot though. I'm in Yuma.
Glad you like your new pistol. It took me a while to adjust to the grip on my 20. 20+ years of shooting 19/23 sized glocks had me conditioned to that size of frame.
