Title: MechTech update
Post by: Keiichi on December 05 2016 09:18:37 PM MST
Just a little showing off  8)

Getting closer to "complete"... only thing left is the cheek rest I'm working on to attach to the telestock; found a 3D printing shop online that prints both plastics and metals, just need to get the 3D design finished.

100% reliable as of October. I needed to take the sharp edge off the top of the feed ramp - it was pinching a small percentage of mid- and low-power 10mm rounds as they fed. Careful application of a dremel sanding bit, followed by a thorough polish. No detectable change to chamber support (brass looks great), but it runs smooth with everything I feed it now.

Photos are of the MechTech, G20, and 100 rounds of Sig 180 FMJ in six mags. Two mags have +5 base extensions (required minor modification to function).

Lots of Magpul accoutrements... Bushnell TRS-25, CrimsonTrace green laser, Dale Fricke Zachaeous trigger guard holster (in lieu of manual safety...)...

Thanks! ;D

10-7 leo - I'm not an experienced or formally trained marksman, so I'm sure my ability doesn't do the rifle justice, especially off hand...

Standing, off hand with stock extended, shooting quickly, at 25 yards, 10 shots - 4 to 6 inch groups
Standing, off hand with stock extended, focusing on accuracy, at 25 yards, 10 shots - 2 to 3 inch groups (if my fundamentals are good...)
Seated, off tire-rubber rest, focusing on accuracy, at 50 yards, 10 shots - all 10 rounds in the same ~1.5 inch hole (again, if my fundamentals are good...)
Standing, hip-fire with the laser and stock collapsed, 15 yards, 10 shots - 2 to 3 inch groups

For a pistol carbine, I'm very happy with the accuracy.

I'd like to get out and shoot some steel with it at some point... I've seen some advertising online for 2-gun PCC courses, but haven't yet found any in my area.
