Title: Sig 1911R Tacops 10mm
Post by: 01deuce on January 16 2017 01:48:34 PM MST
Anyone else notice the Sig 1911r tacops 10mm's are showing up at dealers now? I put one on layaway today. Looks like $1,049.99 is the going rate from a couple dealers that have them.

I've got a Sig 1911 Tacops in 45acp.....  I wonder if Sig will make it possible to convert the 45acp to 10mm???  ::)

$994 but I was shocked how Sig loads the TACOPS up with MIM parts, worse than Kimber I believe? At least Colt only uses a couples of these parts in the Delta, that are non critical. My next 10mm is going to be a Delta and I'll replace the few MIM parts with Ed Brown parts like I did on my Kimber. In reality you're getting a slightly upgraded RIA (forged frame instead of cast) when you buy one of these new Sigs. I was very disappointed as I was getting ready to buy the TACOPS in 10mm.

Please list your source. I can not find anything that says they have more than 2 mim parts. Slide stop and disco.

Disco, sear, thumb safety, slide stop, ejector, grip safety, mag release, I was just getting ready to give my cc number for purchase when my buddy, who has a TACOPS in .45, said I'd better check with Sig, he knew my aversion to MIM. So I called Sig and asked for Tech support not sales. Sales is useless at Sig, hell the guy in sales didn't even know the pistol was released, this was two weeks ago. I found that disturbing as well!?  Anyway Tech guy transferred me to warranty, he said they'd know, and that's where I got my info, still hear-say but that was good enough for me to quote. The Kimber had the same MIM parts when I dumped the Shwartz safety and stripped the gun. Every MIM part has a tiny circle on it, dead give away. My wife carries the Sig P238 .380acp and I consider it to be the finest.380 out there. MIM in a .380 I have problem with, in a 10mm 1911 I do.

I called Sig cs and also was told that he didn't know they had even shipped yet. I was also told it was not a ramped barrel. 2 dealers have confirmed it does have a ramped barrel. Of the mim parts listed the slide stop would be the most critical imo. Hopefully I will have mine by the middle of next week and will  have a better look at everything myself.
I currently have 5 10mm 's and all have some things done very well and  some things that could maybe be done better. I do have a Delta elite and am very fond of it. I also have a Sig P220 10mm and it is a very well put together gun.  I guess we will see with the 10mm tacops.

Picked it up Wednesday and finally had a little time before dark today. Ran four magazines through it. 1) S&B. 2)Sig fmj & 1) Underwood 165gr gold dot. Functioned flawlessly. As with the P220 it has a very nice fit and finish. I plan to shoot it more this weekend. So far I am very pleased with it.

I have a .45ACP Sig Nitron Target 1911.  Suddenly have a 10mm urge.
