Title: Waiting on my Mec Tech CCU Tele
Post by: gdonley308 on January 25 2017 06:45:20 PM MST
Waiting for it to ship? How long does it take? I bought mine through Glock Parts. It showed in stock. It said shipped but I received a tracking number? Emailed Glock Parts (after the whole spam filter thing), they said that shipped means they have given my order to Mec Tech, WTF?? How can they show it in stock? Anyway mounting my Glock 20 to it with Holosun HS503c when it does arrive. Trying to keep the weight down as much as possible. Any advise for me as far as break in, ammo selection? At the moment I have a bunch of Armscor and Underwood.

The rifle should cycle most, if not all, 10mm loads... though, it is designed as a straight blowback action, so the bolt is heavy and may not cycle the lightest loads reliably.

I haven't had any issues with Armscor in mine (also using a G20 lower), and the Underwood should run fine based on their reputation for full power 10mm. My personal go-to range ammo right now is Sig FMJ, because I can get 200 count bulk boxes for ~$0.43 / round.

Since it's not intended to be (nor practically applicable as) a precision rifle, break-in shouldn't need to be anything other than routine. I actually didn't do much break-in for mine... just a few range trips with 50-100 rounds through and then a thorough cleaning in between.

As to your order experience... I ordered mine direct from MechTech, and received it in under two weeks. I do know that demand for MechTech uppers is high, so their processing time for orders may be longer than when I ordered mine. Sorry, can't speak to the behavior of the other site you ordered it from.

Love mine, even though I wish I could have the telestock version.
Eats everything I have fed it yet.  Likes to run oiled vs on the drier side, so give it a once over before heading to the range.
One thing is for sure.   Bring a lot of ammo with you to the range, it's a lot of fun to shoot.

If MechTech hasn't already re-worked their Glock Block, I would suggest breaking the edge a bit to make for a smoother feed
Sorry for the <r@ppy Cellphone pics:
