I found a 1076 that was one of the approximately 2500 produced and sent to the FBI at Quantico VA. ;D There were thousand of others produced but only the 1st 2500 manufactured in 1990 were actually shipped to the FBI. See letter from S&W.
In 1992 they shipped all 2500 of them shipped back to S&W. The party line is they were destroyed by the FBI but many agents bought them back as personal or duty weapons. I have a factory letter from S&W that documents that this was one of those originally sent to Quantico. It came with the holster, mag holder, and S&W factory. As a collector this is a big score for me. Now I am looking for one of those 1006 that starts with a TENxxx prefix!
My other 10's are Delta Elite, 1006 and 1086. No Glock yet as they can be purchased anytime.
MY grail gun is of course a BrenTen...but ::) ::) $$$

Very nice. ;)
mrbentley, nice gun! S&W's letters leave a lot to be desired...
Very nice! Love my 1076...it is my favorite of the 3rd gen Smith 10s.
I hope to find a 1066 and a 1006 one of these days. I'wouldn't mind e a Bren Ten but I'd want to both carry it and shoot it a lot.
