Thank the LORD I was able to go hunting at a friends place close to Hallettsville,Tx . Took this spike buck (1x4) at 22 yards using the 10MM mag - shooting 180 gr XTP's at 1350 fps. The shot was right behind the shoulder and out the opposite side ribs, deer traveled about 50 yards, very good blood trail.

Wish we could have seen what expansion the bullet got. Doesn't matter though, it clearly did its job.

Yes ,
It will do 1500+ fps, but I thought the 1350 fps would be plenty for deer with the Hornady 180 gr XTP.

Have you checked out Reeds 10mm magnum ammo out? 180 grain at 1650 fps :o
