Title: Ruger SR1911 10mm
Post by: Dave84 on October 01 2017 03:11:59 PM MDT
I love this gun. 1st time at the range it stove piped a few LAX reloads and wouldn't lock the slide back often. 2nd time it didn't fail whatsoever but wouldn't lock the slide back every time. I figured this gun isn't that broken in and I'm shooting light-mid power loads through it. My dad gave me a box of the Sig 10mm that he's had for about 2 years (I feel it was much stronger then than what they produce now). Not one failure of any kind, slide locked back EVERY time at the end of the mag.
This gun is very accurate. I of course shot better with it vs my Glock 19 but it also out shot my Ed Brown Special Forces which isn't easy to do. Trigger is quite nice although not the very best. Fit and finish are great. Looks very elegant. Sights are adjustable. Have your sights adjusted, do your part and you will not miss. Best 800 dollar gun I own. In my top 4 guns for sure. I believe its my most accurate out of all of them.

Mine is probably my most accurate centerfire pistol.  I'm liking it more each time I shoot it.

I'm really having fun with mine, the first two magazines through it had a few problems but starting with the third magazine it has been running like the proverbial sewing machine. I chalk that up to new gun syndrome.

Anyone know of some reasonably priced 9 round 10mm 1911 magazines? I saw some at cheaper than gold but they were almost 50 bucks.

I picked up a dozen of these:

No spacer, hold 10mm fine, and hold 9 rounds.  Haven't had them out to dance yet, but I expect they will be serviceable.

Those SIG mags work fine with Hornady XTPs, RN lead, WFN lead, SIG V Crown, and Speer Gold Dots.
Unfortunately they're currently showing out of stock.

I've had similar experience with mine. I've got about 300 rounds through it with no problems at all.

Very accurate also. After I sighted it in with Doubletap 180 grain Gold Dots, I was able to hold my groups to 6" off the bench at 50 yards.
