Title: Anyone tried putting a rail on a Witness?
Post by: Scarlett Pistol on October 28 2017 10:24:36 PM MDT
I have a Witness Hunter. I've seen guys using a rail adaptor for shooting tripods for their rifles. Thought that would make a really stable rest for handgun hunting, but the Witness Hunter doesn't have a rail.

So, has anyone tried mounting a rail on the Witness Hunter or any of the Witnesses that do not have rails? If so, how was the experience and what worked/didn't work?

For example, CZ Custom has this for the 97. I've also seen rails for 1911's. I'm guessing I'll have to get something and modify it for the Witness.

Haven't done it myself, but this is the one I looked at really hard:

No drilling/tapping required.  They have a universal option that should work on your gun. If it doesn't work out you can just take it back off and probably sell it to get some of your money back.

That's really interesting! I'll have to keep and eye on it for when it is back in stock.

Your frame is drilled, so just need to fabricate a bracket or buy one of the optic mounts.
