Title: Broke out the 41 Avenger today (pic)
Post by: TonyRumore on November 02 2017 04:15:47 PM MDT
Back in the early 80's, before the 10mm, J.D. Jones from SSK Industries rolled out the 41 Avenger which is basically a 451 Detonics Magnum case (or 40 Super case) necked to 41 caliber.  It was pretty cool in 1983.
It shoots a 170gr Sierra HP at 1300fps and a Sierra 210gr at 1100fps from an unsupported 1911 barrel.

Fast forward 35 years....I loaded it up with some Hornady 190gr FTX bullets.  Unfortunately the way they are designed,  they really eat up case capacity in the Avenger case, but still flew 1100fps with 8.6gr of N105.

The red tipped pointed bullet looks cool as hell in the Avenger case.  Clink.

Cut the tip off with a razor blade.
