Title: 5.11 tactical vest and khakis
Post by: krafcheck on December 26 2012 07:37:02 PM MST
anybody got one of these. i think it is a little big. its an xl and im 5'8" 175lbs but it adjust somewhat snug around the waist on the second snap.  got it for christmas and havent wore it out yet but it seems like it will be a great edition to my conceal carry attire. any one have the 5.11 khakis? curious if it is comfortable and practicle or more of a waste of money.

5.11 Khakis are sub-standard.  They wear out far too easily.  Instead I would go with the Duluth Trading Fire Hose pants.

I have recently become a fan of Carhartt Carpenter jeans.  They offer some extra pockets, and are made of 15 oz denim.  Best of all they can be had for well under $40 delivered.

BDU pants.........huge pockets, tough, adjustable, and come in multiple solid colors and weights. Duluth if you the money are great. No one in my area wears tactical vests so I avoid them. The fishing shirts are great for CC as are some of the "travel" shirts that are out there. I guess the whole clothing thing is geographical; wear whats comfortable in you area.

PS: The original Royal Robbins 5.11 climbing/hiking pants are great. That tactical stuff NOT.
