Anyone know what functions best on one out 50-100 yards?
You don't really mention what it is for, which makes answering the question less precise.
As an all around I have read good things about this scope:
http://www.amazon.com/Mueller-APV-4-5-14x40-AOScope/dp/B000SULCTA
But, it will have a limited field of vision if you are looking for something to pick off pests with.
Target shooting for now at 100 yards.
The above should be great for that purpose.
For target shooting at a set distance from a bench, it really doesn't matter much, and more magnification is better, up to a point. Hard to go wrong with a standard 3x9 scope for just walking around in the woods though, and is what I use on my .22's.
I have to agree, 3x9x40 for 30 cal or 3x9x32 for 22's work well. Too much magnfications can hamper field of view, amplfy movement for handheld shots. If shooting rested the extra magnfication isn't a bad thing.
Larger optics up front usually gather more light, better for early or late shooting situations...
Don't have much experience with scopes.
I'm looking for Silver and get discounts on these. Check out 89432 here: http://www.weaveroptics.com/optics/riflescopes/classic_rimfire/
and this one:

Either of those win out?
Intercooler I have this on on my Muzzle Loader and kill my last deer at 130+ yards with it, of course I killed 4 deer using that very same rifle since I bought it!

I purchased 4 of these on sale one year at Academy Sports for $13 each with safety glasses and ear muffs...What a buy!

I changed out two of my 22 rifle scope and even put one on my Benjamin .177 cal Airgun, dam that thing puts a hurting squirrels...
Weird question but do you have a picture of that Tasco?
I'm compiling all the info for scopes on paper now and that one is on the list. Discounts are nice but still maybe to much $$ for a $200 rifle.
Oh. I see: Parallax Setting: 100 yds on that one. From what I have read for a .22LR it is better to have one set at 50 yards. Thoughts on that?
Which Tasco picture are you wanting? The one on the air rifle? or Muzzleloader?
Parallax Settings are for when you are working to 100+ yards...
Similar to your suggestion.
Trying the Barska

Here's a pretty good writeup on parallax to help you make the best decision for you.

What a scope ring fiasco. I spent like a week researching rings to fit it and the receiver groove. The more I read the more the reviews and info confused me. Today I finally found a pair of silver 3/8" dovetails in stock for $10 (only set in 3 stores) and decided to go that way rather than chance a bad mail-order. Shockingly they clear everything with even the caps on and seem to hold tight. Can't wait to try the scope out zeroing it in at 100 yards.

Personally I like to be over scoped on my rim fires...
Natchez has a great deal on Simmons 4x12 and 6x18 scopes. These are 69 & 59 dollars respectively. I bought one initially to see and liked them SO MUCH I bought FOUR MORE!! http://www.natchezss.com/product.cfm?contentID=productDetail&prodID=SN517721&src=exrbSrch
They have GREAT clarity, EXCELLENT eye relief. SIDE focus parallax adjustment. (A ABSOLUTE MUST for my rim fires)
Give them a look, I KNOW you will like what you see.

Silver is out of stock :(

I probably would have given it a whirl but seems like a LOT of scope :o
Finally sighted in the Barska scope yesterday for the first time. Easy no tools setup and it works great! Really happy with the purchase so far and makes me excited to try 100 yards next time out.
Happy to see everything worked out well in the end.

I really can't see going to a 14 power scope with a .22 LR. I think a 2X7 would be just fine. Besides that, I don't think my RIFLE cost that much. Think it was an $80 K-Mart blue light special.
You can't go wrong with a 3-9X32mm or 3-9X40mm
I like ones with an Adjustable Objective
Remember, a good Air Rifle Scope will work well on a 22 too
But it has to be a GOOD air rifle scope, since a 22's kick is a little bit stronger!

True, but a High Power Spring Gun has an odd reverse Recoil when the Spring reaches full extension
That

Spring air rifles are very hard on a scope because of their very sharp reverse recoil impulse. It looks like DenStinett was going to explain this but his post was probably cut off. I would use an air rifle rated scope on my .22 in a heart beat.

What ammo are you runnin'?
I have put 5 or 6 types through it so far. I mainly shoot Federal value box or Champion.

Copy that
If I don't check, I end-up missing have my posts
But you're rignt on point
A Springer hits in both directions, so a good Pellet Rifle Scope will out last any mid to low end 22 Scope
Same Scope on my Marlin 39 Mountie 22LR a Lyman All American 4x for 60 years.
Still killing game today !
