Title: EAA Magazines
Post by: P33v3 on February 09 2013 08:10:07 PM MST
Man EAA Magazines are inconsistent. All are suppose to be 15 RDS. I have one that holds 14 (well depending upon the Ammo it is sometime 13). One that holds 13 and 2 that hold 12. I don't quite know why. I would think that they would all hold the same number but apparently not.

Many said that the follower is not allowing full compression when they are new...Others have said that they don't force them in an effort to make feeding more reliable...  I don't know what to think, I don't yet have an EAA Witness...Someday! :-[

I have 5 and all hold 15 rounds.  The last one or two were a REAL struggle to get in when they were new.  Like, I had to literally use a 2X4 to push the top round against.

Once they were broken in, the load up much easier.

I just bought 4 new ones and I think 2 of them will go 15, two won't. Two of them also fail to actually feed and will jam up about halfway empty. I've only taken one apart at the range to see if the spring was getting all gummed up, but everything inside looked perfectly normal. They're quite disappointing. Mine have the red followers, and ghastly high-gloss black finish.

Keep em loaded.  That, I found, for some reason to make the difference with my red follower mags.  I keep them all stuffed all the time and never have issues.

Black follower K10's are 14 rounds.

Wanna sell your reds?

...and just received two brand new K10s and can just get 13 in them--most certainly cannot get 14 in them.  These are both FT mags, not Mec-Gar. I'll keep 'em topped off when not in use, but I don't think this is a spring-strength issue--with the 13th round in the mag, there is no more compression possible at all--it's solid rock bottom. So, I tend to go with the follower being the issue. We'll see what happens over time.
