Title: Need 10mm ammo? PBR has them in stock 5% off!
Post by: Intercooler on February 13 2013 03:53:18 PM MST
Got a bunch of info from Anthony today to pass on. Firstly is the 200's in HP on his site are XTP's (Chopinbloc has them for gel) and the 165/180's are Zero.

Second is he has some stock and offered a 5% off discount code for orders of >$50: 10F-DSC-1     I'm sure they will go quick so save me few!

Lastly he said he received good response from the initial trial. Thanks from Anthony and myself for showing your support in getting the V-line established!

It's good stuff. The Zeros in 165 tested out pretty good. It will be interesting to see how the XTP in 200gr does versus the 180gr zeros.

I'm happy Anthony did this. It's about the best deal going currently out there for strong 10mm and the 5% is icing.

I ordered 5 more boxes myself tonight  :o

someone on here chronied the 200gr JHP at 1274 fps, not sure which gun that was tested with but i will chrony them thru a Glock 20C and see what happens... the compensation should slow it down some 50-75 fps but if it clocks near 1200 fsp I will be happy...

That would be me. Results may vary though  ;)

I have more coming and rebuilt my Chrony so plan on doing them all again. All are loaded with #9 which is supposedly a real safe powder for the 10mm.

Pacop, what do they charge for shipping to our part of the country?

My 5 boxes was about $25. I haven't done a comparison of Kevin's East Coast prices with the per box discount (I think .50) versus the lower PBR's price minus 5%, but coming from the West. Might be close to a wash now.

I was curious so:

5 boxes of UA 180gr. XTP @ $34.83/box
Subtotal:  $174.15
Shipping & Handling:  $17.46
Estimated Tax:  $0.00
Total:  $191.61

5 boxes of PBR 200gr. XTP @ $28.60/box - 5% = $27.17/box
FedEx Home Delivery: $27.00
Subtotal excluding taxes: $162.85
Unearned Cash Discount: $4.89   If you pay by credit card 3% is added back in here
Total: $167.74

I tend to believe if you are West of the Mississippi PBR... East Underwood.

The low cost of their ammo justifies it. As per Intercooler's post UW is cheaper to ship but more expensive to buy now.

Got my order today and they look sharp! Couple of things I noticed PBR does different than other MFG's:

- Paperwork was stamped as checked/inspected/checked-off and a name added (I had Linda)
- Lot # on boxes
- No trays. I personally don't like trays. Just dig my hand in and load up the Uplula
- 200 XTP's had Winchester primers but Velocity Supreme had CCI primers

Hope to Chrony this batch and see how it compares with the Match and/or Hunter.

I need some help beating on Anthony ;D for the 135/155 if everyone can help. Is their any HP we aren't getting from the others we can suggest up to him as his offering?
