Title: Anyone shot, or know anything about Speer’s Gold Dot G2 ammo
Post by: Kenk on April 07 2019 04:43:53 PM MDT
Anyone shot, or know anything about  Speer's LE 54226 Gold Dot G2 ammo? It looks like the G2 has a high-performance elastomer that fills the Gold Dot''s HP cavity to aid in uniform expansion. After watching the below video, they may be questionable

Thanks

When they first released them, I remember a lot of independent testing that did horrible in.

The story is the first batch that was released to the public was defective. Apparently, the supplier of the polymer for the tip changed the formula without telling Speer. Anything with a 2016 or later headstamp should be fine. The early stuff was later sold with "training use only" marked on the box.

It was sold with Training Use Only on the box? I feel some of the reviews I saw were dishonest. I had basically dismissed Speer for all my future purchases because I felt I could not trust them.

I mean, it's possible some of the reviewers got the very first number of items from the batch. I did see in your test the bullet did well.
